💙 The S-Word ... And It's Not What You Think It Is 💙
"Stop being so sensitive!"
"God, Faye, you're so sensitive ...."
"You can't go through life being so sensitive."

Sound familiar? Growing up, I heard these words a lot – from everyone around me!
Parents, teachers, siblings, friends, cousins and other family members.

SENSITIVE had a bad wrap! Being labeled as "sensitive" felt like a bad thing. And I tried to fight it for years.
Until I didn't and until I made peace with the internal battles, embraced all parts of myself and turned my struggles into my strengths.
Back then, sensitivity meant feeling everything intensely, picking up on vibes, and understanding the unspoken. It was tough, especially when others thought it was a flaw. I struggled, trying to fit into a world that said being sensitive was wrong.
Fast forward to today, and I've flipped the script. Being sensitive is my superwork, especially in the work I do helping others navigate their struggles. Feeling deeply allows me to connect with people on a profound level, to understand their emotions, and to create a space for healing.
So, here's to embracing our unique qualities and turning struggles into strengths.

I recently stumbled upon the gorgeous soul-soothing melodies of Karen Drucker which I'd love to share with you too.
If you're not familiar with her music, trust me, you're in for a real treat. Karen's tunes are like a warm hug for your ears, and they've become an integral part of my personal wellness routine. I match one of her songs to suit my mood every single morning and also at the beginning and end of every class I teach. I even prescribe her music to my private clients and they can't stop raving about it.
And just so you know, there's no financial gain in sharing this with you – it's purely a passion project because I genuinely believe in the power of her music.

Many of you have reached out to me personally after my previous post about my time in Lebanon🇱🇧. One concern that seems to be on everyone's mind is the safety situation here. I truly appreciate your concern for my well-being – THANK YOU!

And I’d also like to address some of the misconceptions surrounding safety in Lebanon. 👇

If we define safety as the ABSENCE OF CONFLICT, then it's true that Lebanon🚫IS NOT completely safe. But then again nowhere on planet Earth is. Conflict is an inevitable part of human communities and relationships, it’s just that the conflict looks different in different countries. Take 🇫🇷France, for example. Would you consider France a "safe" country? Surprisingly, many people in Lebanon (during the summer of 2023) would regard it as much safer than France.

✅ Safety is a relative and contextual concept.

Now, if you're specifically asking about the safety in terms of ARMED CONFLICT, I can assure you that Lebanon IS safe. The armed conflicts here ended some time ago, although the potential for conflict still exists due to our location in a volatile region. Again, this assessment is relative and contextual. Many here would ask, are schools plagued by armed shootings in the 🇺🇸 US safe? Are dairies targeted by knife attacks and hammer assaults in 🇳🇿Auckland safe?

Safety is a relative and contextual concept. ✅

The idea that Lebanon isn’t safe is (in my opinion) a MYTH.

Throughout the years, I have encountered numerous myths about my birth country of 🇱🇧Lebanon. As a proud and passionate Lebanese, I have always enjoyed dispelling these myths.

Here are some of the main myths about Lebanon that I have been delighted to debunk over the years👇

❌1. MYTH: Lebanon is a desert.

In reality, we have mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, and beaches, but no desert. The landscape is very Mediterranean, similar to Italy, Cyprus, Greece, and parts of Spain. And because we don't have a desert, it also means we don't have camels, except for the zoo, of course!

❌2. MYTH: It doesn’t snow in Lebanon

I actually learned to ski in the mountains of Lebanon at the age of 11.

❌ 3. MYTH: Lebanon is a Muslim nation

In fact, Lebanon is a religiously diverse nation. We even had Jews in Lebanon until the turn of this century. I come from a Christian family.

❌4. MYTH: All Lebanese are terrorists

I could write a dissertation on this topic, but for now, you'll just have to take my word that this is not true. 🤓

I've been away from New Zealand since April, spending quality time back home in Lebanon. It's been a bit of a juggling act between homes, time zones, and hemispheres, but overall, it's been wonderful to reconnect with my sense of home.
While enjoying Lebanon's stunning nature and gorgeous Mediterranean lifestyle, I've been keeping busy with my amazing clients. My schedule has been packed with online sessions, consultations, podcast interviews, group sessions, and in-person trainings and workshops.
I live in the mountains of Lebanon, where we have beautiful pine forests, cedar reserves, and juniper forests. Each one is unique and breathtakingly beautiful. When I'm not working or hanging out with family and friends, I love being outside and surrounded by the energy of the trees and the forests. Lately, I've been exploring a wellness practice that has become my latest obsession: OBSERVING FRACTALS IN NATURE.
I want to share a glimpse of my recent hiking trip among the stunning cedars of Lebanon. In this short 2-minute video, I'll walk you through the powerful practice of observing fractals in nature. It's a little-known technique that can shift your nervous system into a calm and confident state.
