Carol - Our lovely Donor Relations Coordinator recently did a presentation about blood and plasma processes, eligibility, knowing what blood group can give to who and so much more!!
Education around giving blood/plasma and its process after a donation is very important to not only us, but you, AND the receiver!
Currently less than 4% of Kiwis donate and we need to change that!
We're happy to come and educate your businesses on WHY donating blood is important in saving lives.

Scared to give alone? - Signup your business to a "Team Red" and group give! It's a great team bonding exercise.
- We provide shuttles to our donor centers and local blood drives in your area. We can also come in like Carol and give presentations and blood type you and your team!
Saving lives has never felt so rewarding.

Got an hour this week Manukau?
That’s all it takes to save someone’s life.

You can donate plasma The Manukau Donor Centre all week and we really need you! YES YOU!
Whether you're a first-time donor or a legend that donates regularly, we can't keep up with demand, so I encourage you to spend an hour out of your day to donate plasma.

Think of it this way:
1 hour = one episode of your favourite show, podcast, reels.
1 hour = of peace and quiet in a comfy chair.
1 hour = delicious treats and coffee/tea.
1 hour = a life-changing plasma donation for a Kiwi who really needs it.

Every week, thousands of New Zealanders rely on plasma, your neighbours, your whānau, your Tamariki.

Right now, we’re even having to top up from the USA which is less than ideal!

SO, South Auckland, let’s show the rest of the nation how it’s done. 🏆

Another week, another legend 🩸

Today we celebrated Graeme's incredible milestone of 200 donations (71 blood and 129 plasma donations)!

He began his journey in September 1999 with his first whole blood donation in Wellington. After moving to Auckland in 2005, he continued donating at Epsom before joining Manukau in 2010.
In April 2020, Graeme switched to plasma and now donates every fortnight.

Thank you, Graeme, for being a lifesaver for over 2 decades. The impact of your donations is felt by so many different individuals and their whānaus across the motu.

🎉 100 Donations! 🎉

Today, we celebrate Deb’s incredible journey of generosity and kindness.

Before she could donate, Deb spent her time volunteering on the NZBS mobile bus, making sure every donor felt cared for with a warm drink and a smile. She helped others, even when she couldn’t give blood herself.

Then, in November 1996, Deb rolled up her sleeve for the very first time, and she hasn’t stopped since! Today, she’s reached an amazing milestone: 85 plasma donations and 15 whole blood donations.

Deb’s story reminds us that donating can be more than a single act, it’s a lifetime of compassion and giving the perfect gift. Thank you, Deb, for inspiring us all.

Its time to weigh in! I'll start us off as the admin for the Manukau page - definitely more of a biscuit fan, especially the squiggles we are now stocking 🍪

Alright donors – it's time to settle a great debate. What's the best post-donation snack? LIKE react if you think it's a savoury snack (like cheese and crackers) or COMMENT if you think it's a sweet snack (like bickies)!

Next week is our National Blood Donor week where we celebrate our donors, our lifesaving superheroes 🩸

Thank you for the time you all take to make a difference in the lives of New Zealanders when they are at their most vulnerable.

This is also our call to action for all future superheroes who are on the fence about donating - a blood donation can take a little as 5 minutes with the needle in your arm but can give someone else a lifetime (allow 45 min for registration + interview).
