On his birthday, Mark gave the ultimate gift - his 360th plasma donation! The legend lit up the donor centre once again, bringing the laughs, sharing life stories, and keeping the plasma flowing! Thank you for the ultimate gift, Mark 💛

Merci to Mathilde, Jeff, Flore & Leo! 🇫🇷❤️🇳🇿

Mathilde (middle) and Jeff (right) are part of our Epsom family, and yesterday they did something extra special - they brought their French friends along to donate while holidaying in New Zealand!

Meet Flore (donating on the chair) and Leo (far left). They’ve been travelling the country in a van and, even with their last month here approaching, they generously took time out of their day to donate. Both have donated back home in France, but this was Flore’s very first plasma donation! As an intensive care nurse, she spoke about the constant need for blood products, especially for patients with leukaemia.

Leo, who works as a Fly-Fishing Guide (how cool is that!), also rolled up his sleeve to donate whole blood yesterday.

We’re so grateful to all four of them for making a difference – what an inspiring international effort!

Last week, we welcomed a father and daughter duo, Nuwan and Yenuthi! This extra special plasma donation was Nuwan’s 49th since moving to NZ in 2022, and Yenuthi’s very first donation after turning 16 last month. Yenuthi was inspired by her favourite subject biology and her dreams of becoming a doctor, she donated as she “knows it’s a good cause” and enjoyed learning about the process of plasma donation.

Thanks Nuwan and Yenuthi for taking the time to donate and supporting each other, we loved having you and look forward to seeing you again!

A massive thank you to the Mt Wellington team from Wesco Anixter NZ who took time out of their busy day to come in and donate together! They've been coming in regularly over the years and have now reached 87 donations, helping improve around 261 lives – an incredible effort! This year, they've done 37 blood donations and consistently bring great energy and laughs – a big thank you lads!

Our blood stocks need help heading into the long weekend – especially O blood group. So if you've got a team who want to donate – you could help us like Wesco Anixter did.

When you donate plasma, we seperate and keep just the plasma, while the rest of your blood components - red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells, are all returned back to you!

Thanks to this incredible process, we're able to collect more plasma from you, and your body naturally replenishes it within 24-48 hours. That means more lives saved, and more hope for patients in need of lifesaving treatment.

It's International Plasma Awareness Week!

Right now, Aotearoa needs 2,330 plasma donations every week, with 335 needed just from Epsom - to support patients relying on it for treatment and medications. But that number will keep on rising to meet the growing demand.

We are proud to share that NZNNS members joined Team Red and took part in a blood donation initiative. Through this effort, a total of 14 donations were made by our members, contributing directly to saving lives and supporting those in need.
