This is a weighted vest. Or you might have heard it called a Rucking Vest? I bought it last year some time and use it about once or twice a week when I'm out walking, or it's brilliant to wear when you're cleaning the house.
The idea behind it is that the added weight on your body can enhance your favourite aerobic workout by increasing your cardiovascular demand, plus adding just enough stress to your joints that it improves your bone density, but not causing too much stress.
And for us women in midlife, we need to be really conscious of this!
Bone density starts declining in perimenopause and it can be a big deal for some woman. So anything I can do that fits into my normal day, a walk, a clean of the house, that I can simply add in another element, but I get great gains, I'm in!
I've even got Mum wearing one now. She's got some bone density concerns and after her trying mine in Dec and hearing the research, she was in too!
I'm always reading, always experimenting on myself, and then passing on what actually works to the women I coach.
If we were working together, this is the stuff you'd get – I recommended this to my client just last week because osteo runs in the family and she's concerned... it's a simple addition.
Sing out if you've got any questions about how coaching works... just message me. x
P.S. Do you have a weighted vest? Or heard about them?
