Green Prescription- Sport Auckland A Green Prescription (GRx) is free health and wellbeing support service delivered across New Zealand.

The Green Prescription journey involves:

A Healthy Lifestyle Advisor contacting the participant and discussing health and nutrition goals, activity options in the community, and assisting in formulating an action plan for the participant to start with. Check in's are then undertaken for the participant every 3-4 weeks over the duration of the 12 week programme. At the end of this period the aim is for the participant to be independently active and to have achieved a number of health-related goals along the way. During the 12 weeks the participant is also supported through live streaming exercise classes, Nutrition seminars, monthly health talks and receives a monthly e-newsletter with tips and notices.

As one of the most common nutrient deficiencies, it's concerning that 30% of the world's population suffers from iron deficiency. This is particularly seen among women and children, including in New Zealand.

Our Story

The Green Prescription journey involves: A Healthy Lifestyle Advisor contacting the participant and discussing health and nutrition goals, activity options in the community, and assisting in formulating an action plan for the participant to start with. Follow-up reviews are then undertaken for the participant every 4 weeks over the duration of the 12 week programme. At the end of this period the aim is for the participant to be independently active and to have achieved a number of health-related goals along the way. During the 12 weeks the patient is also supported through Nutrition seminars and resources, monthly health talks and receives a monthly e-newsletter with tips and notices. At the end of the patients 12 weeks support on the programme, their referrer will receive a discharge summary noting what changes the patient has made and how much better they are now feeling.
