Why Some Medicines Can’t Be Prescribed for 12 Months:
From 1st February 2026, some long‑term medicines in New Zealand can be prescribed for up to 12 months at a time. This makes it easier for many people to get their regular medicines without needing frequent GP visits.
However, not all medicines are safe to prescribe for a full year. Some require regular blood tests, dose adjustments, or close monitoring to keep you safe. Please make an appointment with your GP and they will advise you.

• Holiday stress and anxiety
• Sleep issues

• Feeling low or overwhelmed

📣 Meningitis Vaccines for Students
Heading into boarding school, a university hall of residence, or another close-living setting? Here’s an important reminder for students and families:
There are two different meningitis vaccines — Bexsero (MenB) and Menactra or MenQuadfi (MenACWY) — and both are fully funded for eligible young adults.

👥 Who is eligible?
Young people 13–25 years old who are:
✔️ Entering a close-living environment within the next 3 months, or
✔️ Currently in their first year of living in places such as:
• Boarding school hostels
• University halls of residence
• Military barracks

These vaccines are recommended to help protect against serious meningococcal disease.

If this applies to you or your teen, get in touch to book an appointment. 💉✨

🎄 Repeat Prescriptions over the Christmas and New Year Holiday Period🎄
As the festive season approaches, we want to make sure all our patients have enough medication to last over the Christmas and New Year break.
If you take regular prescriptions, please check your supplies and arrange a repeat prescription with us in plenty of time. This helps avoid running out while we are closed.
📅 Our clinic will be closed from 12 Noon on Wednesday 24th December 2025 and will reopen at 8.30 am on Monday 5th January 2026.
Plan ahead, stay well, and enjoy a safe and happy holiday season!

⚠️ Measles is circulating in Aotearoa ⚠️
Two doses of the measles vaccine protect about 99% of people. The vaccine is free for under-18s and for adults eligible for funded care.
Not sure if you’ve had two doses? We can check your records and help you catch up if needed.
Important:
If you have a fever AND a rash (or think you might have measles), do NOT enter the practice. Measles is highly contagious.

📞 Call us first from outside on 09 320 0168. We will make a safe plan to see you while protecting our clinicians and other patients.
Thank you for helping keep our community safe! 🙏
