Kahiau Wellbeing

Kahiau Wellbeing About Kahiau
Kahiau is a Pasifika-led nonprofit Organisation dedicated to serving our Pasifika community with compassion, connection, and care.

Kahiau | Pasifika-Led Nonprofit
Serving our Pasifika community with heart
- Suicide Prevention & Intervention
- Advocacy for our Pasifika Elders
- Safe spaces for youth
- Connecting you to free & low-cost support
-For the community, by the community Our mission is to connect Pasifika individuals and families to free or low-cost community services — especially those who feel unseen or unheard. We focus on Suicide Prevention and awareness, creating safe spaces for youth, and providing Advocacy for our Pasifika elders, particularly those with limited English or access to support. We believe that talking about suicide can save lives. By breaking the silence and encouraging open, culturally safe conversations, we stand alongside those who are struggling especially within our Pasifika community — and those supporting them. We stand for dignity, inclusion, and culturally safe services. Whether it’s finding the right help, translating for elders, or simply being there to listen, Kahiau is here — for the community, by the community.

🌺 FEBRUARY 2026 🌺
An important workshop for our parents and caregivers — a safe space to learn, connect, and be guided in preventing youth su***de within our Pasifika community. 💛

This is something you don’t want to miss.
This information would have helped me a lot had i seen the signs!!
That’s why I urge all parents — especially our Pasifika families — to educate yourselves, learn to notice the signs, and reach out before it’s too late.

Together, we can break the stigma, heal from trauma, and create safer spaces for our children. 🌈

📅 Coming February 2026 – stay tuned for dates and details!

Today, our team had the privilege of meeting with Fonua Whaiora, SouthSeas Health Centre, and the Elderly community members of Fetu o le Pasifika in Ōtara to talanoa about mental health, wellbeing, and su***de prevention.

It was an honour to share our vision and discuss how we can continue to work together to support and uplift our Pasifika communities. Through collaboration and open conversations, we can strengthen awareness, break down stigma, and create safe spaces where our people feel seen, heard, and supported.

Fa’afetai tele lava to everyone who joined us in this important kōrero. Together, we can make a difference. 💛✨
