Antenatal classes at Taonga Education are led by a wahine Maori midwife with over 10 years experience and as a former teen mum, she truly gets the journey.
Every class begins with her story, helping to break down walls and build trust. ❤️
It's more than just learning- it's about whakawhanaungatanga, confidence, and awhi as you prepare to meet pepi!

Today we did a thing... actually we did a couple of things today, we held a Matariki celebration with tamariki, whānau, community, amazing organisations that have been generous and shown so much kindness towards Taonga Education, for which we are forever thankful. So it was lovely to watch our tamariki sing for you, to hear the story about how Taonga started and to share kai. What a wonderful time of the year, to hononga, acknowledge the past, reflect on the current and look forward to the coming year.

Our other really cool thing is we launched our new logo and brand, we love it! It expands on the original logo created by Tipene Paea in 2015. It has done us proud, so we didn't want to move too far from the original whakaaro. Our new logo, like the previous one was inspired by Te Pā Harakeke, it places mokopuna at the centre nurtured by their mātua and tūpuna.

The woven harakeke strands reflect the strength and kotahitanga of whānau, bound together across generations.

This tohu embodies the heart of TAONGA Education Centre Charitable Trust; a place where the voices and aspirations of whānau are uplifted and tamariki and rangatahi are supported to flourish.

I walked into mahi today with a brilliant idea (well I thought so), lets join the 50km Walk Challenge in support of Breast Cancer for the month of May. After answering a few questions, the team were ON!
