$61.6 million in mental health crisis funding, announced last week by the Minister for Mental Health.

Which is great, except – how will the 100 New Zealanders a day needing crisis support be able to access it?

That’s why we’re supporting Te Hiringa Mahara | The Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission’s call for a nationally cohesive and coordinated crisis response system by June 2027.

It’s what’s needed to make sure people in crisis can access the right support, when and where they need it.

Read their full report, and the ‘quick wins’ they are suggesting, here: https://www.mhwc.govt.nz/our-work/mental-health-and-addiction-system/crisis-responses-monitoring-report/

It’s World Kindness Day – a little goes a long way ✨

Small acts make a big difference for others and for you. Compliment someone, let a driver in, or leave a kind note. You’ll both enjoy a mood boost, long after the act itself.

Kia atawhai tātou i a tātou.💫

New Zealand’s children, teenagers and young adults are being let down.

Young people today have the highest rates of mental health challenges in Aotearoa, yet wait the longest for support.

There’s still no comprehensive government plan to address this. And there hasn’t been for years.

It's just not good enough. We’re done waiting for change. Our future generations deserve better – they deserve a youth mental health action plan.
