SPLINT PRACTICE!
Practice makes perfect! Our new therapist Lauren made an amazing first thumb spika splint today on a patient 💫 we also have 3rd year OT student Tyler who got in on the action with a great splint of his own.
Then the rest of our fab team joined in to impart their wisdom in the art of splint making.

Team THTG had an incredible time attending the Hand Therapy New Zealand Conference over the weekend. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired by some truly amazing local talent in the field of hand therapy and surgery. Up there with one of the best conferences I’ve been to.
A special shoutout to our very own Natalie Kane, who was not only a passionate delegate, a member of the Executive Committee but also served as Co-Convenor of the event. Your hard work and dedication helped make the conference such a success — we’re so proud of you!
Feeling energised and grateful to be part of such a vibrant, knowledgeable, and committed community. Until next year!

We are back from the Gold Coast after an inspiring weekend at the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) Conference!
It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with passionate colleagues from across the ditch and dive deep into the latest in hand therapy practice. The clinical content was both thought-provoking and practical— we’re walking away with new ideas and fresh motivation to keep improving outcomes for our patients.
Grateful for the shared knowledge, collaborative spirit, and of course, a beautiful backdrop to top it all off! ☀️

Yesterday, we celebrated the grand opening of the Ormiston THTG Clinic—an exciting new chapter in hand therapy excellence!
Proudly independently owned and operated by experienced hand therapist Rebecca Tuhi. She is a passionate and skilled hand therapist, dedicated to helping individuals regain optimal hand and upper limb function. Her clinic offers personalised treatment plans tailored to address specific needs and goals, whether it’s rehabilitation after surgery, assistance with managing a chronic condition, or guidance in maximising hand function.
Located in the vibrant Ormiston community, the clinic provides a welcoming space for patients to receive comprehensive and compassionate care.
We are thrilled to have this new clinic in our community, offering accessible and specialised care to those in the Ormiston and East Tamaki areas.

With over 25 years combined hand therapy experience and a genuine passion for helping people, founders, Nikki, Emma and Laura had the vision to create a family-friendly hand therapy clinic (or two!) in their local suburbs.
The Hand Therapy Group was formed to provide accessible, top quality care to the community to ensure that every patient that walks through the clinic doors feels cared for and reaches their individual goals. Whether that be a return to the sport they love, taking care of their children, returning to work or simply having a better quality of life.
Hand therapy is the art and science of assessing and treating injuries and conditions of the upper limb. A number of therapeutic interventions may be used to assist patients to achieve their functional goals.
Hand Therapists are registered Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists who have undergone additional training in Hand Therapy. Through independent study, clinical experience and ongoing education they have become proficient in treatment of upper limb conditions resulting from injury, disease and congenital deformity.
A Hand Therapist can treat conditions from the fingertip to the elbow and everything in between.
