Join us for the Big Latch On - a celebration of connection, community and the amazing journey of breastfeeding!
ThisFriday 27 March, from 10am–12pm, we’re gathering at Te Papaioea Birthing Centre for this global moment where breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and mixed‑feeding parents latch their pēpi all at the same time in a beautiful show of solidarity.
We’ll mingle, connect and enjoy the morning together - then everyone will latch at 11am for the official Big Latch On count!
Bring your baby, bring your whānau, and bring your good vibes - this is a relaxed, supportive space to meet others, share stories and celebrate feeding your baby your way.

Fun giveaways will be happening throughout the morning, so everyone has a chance to take home something special.

Fidgets are an incredible tool for so many reasons. In session I have found that people enjoy the invitation to freely explore our space. These baskets of fidgets are very popular. This helps relieve uncomfortable feelings, like nervous energy or the discussion of distressing/traumatic events. Do you have a favourite fidget? We are always looking to expand our selection. This year has started with some incredible new opportunities. Unique Beginnings continues to work within the private practice space. However a key value that I have always worked toward is equality. In the back ground I have been working with contractors that offer counselling (mainly short term brief therapy). The organisations that I am currently a supplier for their counselling services are Think Hauora maternal mental health and Telus Health. Telus Health has holds the EAP contract for Te Whatu Ora employees. So, if you work for this service then you can enquire about requesting me as your counsellor with Telus Health.
There is more still to come this year with signing up with ACC for Sensitive Claims contracts. Another upcoming opportunity that is in the making for August is a Birth Trauma workshop that Birth Trauma Aotearoa and myself are working collaboratively on. The Hope Collective is another charitable trust that I am collaborating with in the Maternal Health space. So watch this space!
In the mean time I am taking time to appreciate the growth over the last 5 years and to draw in new possibilities for the next 5 years 🌀

I am looking forward to continuing my mahi withTe Aroha Noa Community Services within the counseling team. I will be there Tuesday and the odd Wednesday for client work and to help support these new students🤩

Te Aroha Noa would like to introduce our 3 students to the hapori who will be joining the whare this year, April, Juliette and Kate (pictured at the front). We are looking forward to supporting your counselling journey within community.

OUT OF THE OFFICE till the 12 Jan 2026.

My family and I are off on a family Christmas back in Vancouver this year. I have meet and supported some incredible people this year and I am looking forward to the opportunities that will come along in 2026.
