💙 World Diabetes Day — 14 November 💙
We believe awareness is one of the most powerful tools we have — because when people understand a condition, they respond with compassion, support, and action.
Today, we stand with the millions of people living with Diabetes, and especially with those living with Type 1 — a condition that requires round-the-clock attention and remarkable emotional strength.
Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune condition.
It’s not caused by diet, lifestyle, or anything someone “did wrong.”
The immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas, leaving the body unable to regulate blood sugar on its own.
For those living with Type 1, daily life becomes an intricate balancing act:
🔹 Every meal requires calculations.
🔹 A simple walk can drop blood sugar suddenly.
🔹 Stress, sleep, hormones, illness, even thinking deeply can affect glucose levels.
🔹 Too much insulin can be dangerous. Too little can be dangerous too.
🔹 It is constant. It is invisible. And it never takes a break.
As a clinic, this day is close to our hearts because Mel — co-founder of Imagine Healing — lives with Type 1 Diabetes, and her journey is a daily reminder of the courage, resilience, and discipline this condition demands.
Technology like Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) has changed lives:
They track blood sugar 24/7, offer real-time insights, and even alert loved ones — giving families greater peace of mind and helping prevent dangerous highs or lows.
Today, we honour:
💙 Those living with Diabetes
💙 The parents who stay up through the night
💙 The partners who watch CGM alarms with us
💙 The children who grow up learning bravery through example
We invite our community to wear blue today in support — for someone you love, or simply to help spread awareness.
