💙 World Diabetes Day — 14 November 💙

We believe awareness is one of the most powerful tools we have — because when people understand a condition, they respond with compassion, support, and action.

Today, we stand with the millions of people living with Diabetes, and especially with those living with Type 1 — a condition that requires round-the-clock attention and remarkable emotional strength.

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune condition.
It’s not caused by diet, lifestyle, or anything someone “did wrong.”
The immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas, leaving the body unable to regulate blood sugar on its own.

For those living with Type 1, daily life becomes an intricate balancing act:

🔹 Every meal requires calculations.
🔹 A simple walk can drop blood sugar suddenly.
🔹 Stress, sleep, hormones, illness, even thinking deeply can affect glucose levels.
🔹 Too much insulin can be dangerous. Too little can be dangerous too.
🔹 It is constant. It is invisible. And it never takes a break.

As a clinic, this day is close to our hearts because Mel — co-founder of Imagine Healing — lives with Type 1 Diabetes, and her journey is a daily reminder of the courage, resilience, and discipline this condition demands.

Technology like Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) has changed lives:
They track blood sugar 24/7, offer real-time insights, and even alert loved ones — giving families greater peace of mind and helping prevent dangerous highs or lows.

Today, we honour:
💙 Those living with Diabetes
💙 The parents who stay up through the night
💙 The partners who watch CGM alarms with us
💙 The children who grow up learning bravery through example

We invite our community to wear blue today in support — for someone you love, or simply to help spread awareness.

💙 World Diabetes Day – 14 November 💙

At Imagine Healing, we believe awareness is the foundation of better health and understanding.

This Friday, we’re joining the global movement to raise awareness for Diabetes — a condition that affects over 400 million people worldwide.

For those living with Type 1 Diabetes, it’s a 24/7 journey — constant calculations, blood sugar checks, and lifestyle adjustments to stay balanced and healthy.

💙 This year, we’re standing with our community and with Mel — co-founder of Imagine Healing — who was diagnosed with Type 1 at just 11 years old.

Join us in wearing blue this Friday to show support, raise awareness, and help create a for everyone living with diabetes.

A few weeks ago, we shared that we had started exploring Emulin5, a plant-based supplement developed to support the body’s natural handling of sugars and carbohydrates. We promised to keep you updated as we trialled it ourselves and today we wanted to share some observations from Melissa’s journey so far. 🙌

As many of you know, Melissa has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for 18 years and managing blood sugar is an everyday balancing act. Normally, even something as simple as a cup of tea with milk and sugar requires 4 units of short-acting insulin. Short-acting insulin only lasts about 4 hours, which means that throughout the day, additional insulin doses are always needed — even with low-carb meals.

But on Sunday, Melissa noticed something unusual. After taking her long-acting insulin and her usual 4 units at 10:30 a.m., she realised at 6:00 p.m. that she had not taken any further short-acting insulin all day. That’s an 8-hour stretch — double the time her short-acting insulin would normally cover and her sugars were stable at around 7.8 mmol/L at that time.

The data confirmed what she was seeing:
📊 Over the last 90 days, Melissa’s time in her target range (4.5–10.0 mmol/L) was 51%.
📊 In the last 7 days, that improved to 69%.

While this is just Melissa’s personal experience and not a medical claim, it does reflect how Emulin5 may support carbohydrate metabolism, help manage blood sugar balance, and assist the body’s natural inflammatory response.

🔬 Why is this significant?
Emulin5 works across seven key pathways related to carbohydrate metabolism — including starch conversion, glucose absorption, insulin sensitivity and fat formation. Rather than targeting just one mechanism, it provides multi-level support to help the body handle carbs more effectively.

🌱 What’s inside Emulin5?

• Chlorogenic Acid (Coffee Arabica)
• Myricetin (Myrica cerifera)
• Quercetin (Japanese pagoda flower)
• Lactobacillus plantarum (probiotic, 5 Billion CFU)
• Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

📌 Compliance note: Emulin5 is not a cure or replacement for medication. It is officially a TGA-listed medicine in Australia (AUST L 481850), which means you can look it up directly on the TGA website for all the approved details.

At Imagine Healing, we remain committed to sharing only products we personally test, research, and believe align with holistic care. These early results have been encouraging, and we’ll continue to share updates as we learn more.

💬 If you’d like to know more about Emulin5 and the science behind it, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to provide education and resources.

Aspartame – Safe or Best Avoided?

Aspartame is one of the most common artificial sweeteners, found in diet sodas, sugar-free gum and “low-calorie” foods. Health authorities like the FDA, EFSA and WHO say it’s safe in moderation. But does “safe” always mean ideal?

Yes, aspartame breaks down into methanol and eventually formaldehyde — but only in very small amounts. For perspective, a glass of tomato juice naturally contains more methanol than a can of diet soda. 🍅

🔺 Important note: People with a rare genetic condition called Phenylketonuria (PKU) cannot break down phenylalanine, one of aspartame’s components. For them, even small amounts can be dangerous, which is why all aspartame-containing products carry a PKU warning.

For the rest of us, the issue isn’t the occasional treat. It’s when artificial additives like this become a daily habit. Over time, they can add stress to the body, especially if you’re already dealing with inflammation, gut imbalances, or blood sugar challenges.

Better options for sweetness:
🔸Stevia – plant-based, zero calories, safe for diabetics.
🔸Monk Fruit – natural, non-glycaemic sweetener.
🔸Raw Honey or Pure Maple Syrup – still sugar, but less processed with extra minerals & antioxidants.
🔸Fruit purées – banana, apple, or dates for baking & cooking.

Bottom line:
Aspartame isn’t the instant “poison” some posts suggest, but it also doesn’t nourish your body. For most people, small amounts now and then are fine — but when you can, nature offers far better alternatives that actually support health and healing. 🌱

🌱 Supporting Healthy Weight, Naturally – The GLP-1 Way.

We are passionate about helping clients find sustainable and natural solutions for weight management and overall wellness.

De Ville, our qualified Naturopath with 18 years of clinical experience in South Africa, has worked extensively with both conventional medicine and natural medicine. This unique background means he understands how to combine the best of both worlds to support your health safely and effectively. 🩺

Recently, he introduced a specific combination of natural products into his own wellness routine and started noticing gradual, healthy weight loss. These products work by supporting your body’s own production of GLP-1, the same gut hormone targeted by prescription medications like Ozempic and Wegovy, but naturally and without the side effects.

Why this combination is unique
We chose this specific blend because it doesn’t just "add another supplement" — it actively supports your body’s GLP-1 response for blood sugar balance, satiety and metabolism:

▪️Berberine Advance (Coyne) – Activates your body’s “master switch” for fat burning (AMPK) and has been shown in studies to stimulate natural GLP-1 production.
▪️Origine 8® Green Tea Extract – Included in Berberine Advance to further enhance GLP-1 release, improve digestion, boost metabolism, and fight oxidative stress.
▪️Natroceutics Bergamot – A citrus polyphenol extract that targets visceral (belly) fat, supports healthy cholesterol levels, and improves insulin sensitivity.

Benefits beyond weight management
✔ Supports blood sugar balance & insulin sensitivity
✔ Helps reduce stubborn visceral fat
✔ Supports cholesterol & triglyceride levels
✔ Provides antioxidant protection
✔ Promotes liver & cardiovascular health

Backed by research:
▪️Berberine: Over 50 clinical studies support its benefits for metabolic health, blood sugar, and cholesterol, with evidence of GLP-1 stimulation.
▪️Bergamot: Dozens of studies show improvements in weight, waist circumference, and lipid profiles.
▪️Origine 8® Green Tea: Well-researched for metabolism, antioxidant support, and superior absorption.

Pricing & Dosage
▪️Package (Berberine Advance + Bergamot): $134.80 + postage for a one-month supply (includes a 10% discount until 31 August).
▪️Dosage: 1 capsule of each, twice daily.

We Want To Create A Peaceful Waiting Space, Can You Help Us? 🏞️

Hi everyone!

We’re working on creating a serene little waiting area outside our clinic so clients have a comfy spot to sit while they wait for their appointment with De Ville, since we don’t have a designated indoor waiting area.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Marketplace, but we often miss out on things before we can collect them – so we thought we’d reach out locally to see if anyone has items they’d like to rehome. 🙌

We’re more than happy to pay (our budget isn’t huge) or even swap for an acupuncture session or two 😉 – we prefer reusing and repurposing where we can instead of buying new.

What we’re looking for:
▪️ A bench seat, sofa or a couple of sturdy outdoor chairs 🛋️
▪️ Planter pots (any size – chipped is fine!)
▪️ Succulents or other hardy, low-maintenance plants 🪴
▪️ An outdoor rug or mat
▪️ A small side table
▪️ Solar fairy lights or lanterns 🏮

If you have something sitting in a shed or garage that could have a new life in our little space, we’d be so grateful... And if you’re creative and this sounds like a fun mini project, we’d love to hear your suggestions too! 🌈

Thank you. 💙

We’re always looking for tools that truly support the body, especially when they’re backed by science and naturally formulated.
We’re quite selective about what we choose to explore but we do get curious when something truly innovative crosses our path… 💙

Recently, we came across Emulin5™ and it immediately caught our attention - especially because Melissa is a Type 1 Diabetic and this one stood out. After De Ville did his usual deep-dive research, we decided to try it for ourselves. We’re genuinely excited to see what it does for us.

🔬 What is Emulin5™?
It’s a plant-based blend developed by Nobel Prize-nominated scientist Dr. Joseph Ahrens, designed to help the body manage carbs and sugars more effectively, from the inside out.
It works at a cellular level, helping reduce inflammation, increase insulin sensitivity and regulate how your body handles glucose. This isn’t a "quick fix" - it’s a supportive tool for people who are serious about long-term health.

🩺 What drew us to it?
Let’s be honest, our modern food system isn’t exactly built for metabolic health. Refined carbs, hidden sugars and chronic stress all add up and even people living a healthy lifestyle are struggling with blood sugar spikes, fatigue and inflammation.

That’s where Emulin5 comes in. It doesn’t replace good nutrition, it works alongside it, assisting your body to handle sugars the way nature intended.

🌱 What’s in it?
Emulin5 is a plant-based supplement designed to support how the body handles carbohydrates, inflammation and overall metabolic function. It's not a medication or a quick fix - but it may be a helpful tool for those wanting to support their body more effectively, especially in today's carb-heavy world.

💊 Each capsule contains five key ingredients:
• Chlorogenic Acid (from Coffee Arabica)
• Myricetin (from Myrica cerifera)
• Quercetin (from Japanese pagoda flower)
• Lactobacillus plantarum (probiotic – 5 Billion CFU)
• Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

📢 Some of the reported benefits include:
• Supporting sugar and carb metabolism.
• Reducing systemic inflammation.
• Supporting blood sugar balance and energy.
• Assisting with insulin sensitivity and fat metabolism.
• Helping reduce the risk of insulin resistance over time.

We’re genuinely excited to have this in our hands (literally) and to be exploring it from a place of informed, holistic care. We’re committed to only sharing products we’ve either personally tested or taken the time to investigate properly. If it’s not well-researched and aligned with our values, it simply doesn’t make the cut. If this one proves to be as impactful as we believe it might be – especially when it comes to blood sugar support – we’ll absolutely keep you posted on our experience.

If you're someone who struggles with energy dips, cravings, gut issues, metabolic health - or if you’re already on a wellness journey and want to go deeper - this could be worth learning more about.

Let us know if you have any questions or are curious - we're happy to share what we learn along the way!
