It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Marlene Taylor today, co-founder of Taylors Contracting, wife of the late Bob Taylor, and Mum to Charlie, Matt, and Arthur Taylor.

Marlene was integral to the Taylors Contracting business from the beginning and continued to be deeply involved after the passing of her husband Bob. She has been a staunch supporter and advocate for high standards within the business and the wider industry and her passing will be keenly felt by all who knew her. Most of all she was a loved Mum and grandmother who was extremely proud of her boys and everything they have achieved.

The Taylors family will share details of how Marlene will be remembered in due course but in the meantime please join us in sending our thoughts and support to the family and all those close to Marlene at this very sad time.

Our rivers maintenance team have been planting Willow poles on the banks of the Wai iti River using our innovative ripper and platform attached to our Komatsu bulldozer. In a matter of weeks there will be green shoots on the poles. Willow poles are a cornerstone of soft engineering, using living plant material to stabilize soil and control erosion. This bioengineering technique is a more natural, flexible, and cost-effective alternative to "hard" methods like riprap.
