It was exciting to have 4 of our 2yo trotters out trialling at Alexandra Park on Friday.
But there's a story to it...

It was one of the more stressful trips to Auckland, taking over 3 hours from Cambridge due to the traffic - arriving incredibly late, we pulled them off the truck and had a huge group of people waiting in the tie ups to help us gear them up. These young horses having gear thrown at them from all angles from so many people.
They had to reschedule the trial for 15mons later to accomodate us which we are so grateful for.
So incredibly proud of all four of them for coping with the entire situation, with us being so flustered - they went out on the track and displayed perfect manners.
Didn't even have time to take photos!

When opportunity and timing align, you don’t think - you act 🟡⚫️

By King Of The North, out of Alannah Hall, from the Regal Volo/High Gait dynasty… this filly carries serious trotting heritage.

She was passed in, but we couldn't walk away.

We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome this filly to the team, and shares are now available to join us on the journey.

She looks an early type, and qualifies for the NEXT GEN bonuses.

We love the What The Hill's, and this is a family we have had plenty to do with, having broken in and educated the 3 before her and loving them - so we decided to buy one of our own!

Bred and raised by the experts at Breckon Farms, this filly has the best possible start to life and we can't wait to get her back and get begin working with her.

🌸BOOM debut for DAISY BAY at Alexandra Park!
So proud to see her score in the first fillies Young Guns heat for our friends and clients at Diamond Racing Stables.

Daisy began her journey with us after the NZB Standardbred Sales - broken in here, completed her first prep with us, then progressed to her Pukekohe base to do the rest. Seeing that foundation turn into racetrack success is what it’s all about.

She’s not alone either - several of last year’s breakers graduates are now lining up in the 2YO Young Guns heats for clients across the board.

Awesome to see our last Thoroughbred pre-trainer, PAPARAZZI run such a bold race first up this prep, just going down half a head on the line.

He enjoyed a few weeks of solid arena work, focussing on developing a better quality canter.

We have a couple of vacancies for pre-training, and offer varied and individualised programs to suit each horse.

Excited to cheer on Gryllsy & Smudge! 🎉

Cambridge Raceway is excited to welcome New Zealand’s leading jockey, CRAIG GRYLLS, on course this Friday, January 9th as he takes on the Dunstan Horsefeeds Battle of the Breeds 2026 — right in the heart of our Flying stakes race meeting.

Craig Grylls is one of the biggest names in NZ racing:
