Body Stress Release (BSR) is a gentle, natural technique that helps the body release deeply stored tension caused by physical strain, emotional stress and chemical overload.

Over time, this stored stress can interfere with nerve communication, movement, energy levels and overall well-being.

Using precise, gentle pressure, a trained Body Stress Release practitioner identifies areas where the nervous system is under strain and assists the body in releasing this tension.

There is no manipulation, force or medication involved.

I love that I get to see people heal from things they thought would be a part of their lives forever, just another thing they have to live with.

I love the excitement of clients coming back and being amazed at how well they are healing and how their body is responding.

I love helping and guiding people to make small lifestyle changes to help their bodies.

I love that I get to play a small part in people healing and getting their jest for life back.

I love that I get to make more people aware of BSR and that it continues to grow and help people around the world.

I’m so excited to be working from a new space and to offer my clients even more flexibility when booking appointments.

With today being my last day at work for 2025, I’d like to take a moment to thank all of my clients for trusting me with your pain relief. I am so grateful for the opportunity to play a part in each person’s healing journey.🙏🏻

This year came with its own struggles and challenges, starting over in a new town when you’re a small business is never easy! But looking back, I’m proud of how this year turned out.👏🏻

Body stress in the neck may be a contributing factor to the cause of headaches, migraines, tinnitus, snoring, rounded posture, restricted movement, dizziness, poor sleep, visual disturbances, poor concentration, pins and needles in your hands and arms, irritability, and even depression.

An average adult head weighs around 4.5kgs – quite a weight for our neck and shoulders to bear. Neck muscles also tend to take the strain of any mental and emotional stress by tensing and tightening. And if you spend hours hunched in front of a computer or looking down at your mobile, your neck will almost certainly let you know.

Exposure to chemical stress (which can be inhaled, ingested or absorbed through the skin) can show as tension at the base of the skull. You may feel irritated/angry or be suffering from intense nauseating headaches. Perhaps you find yourself rubbing your neck and shoulders to ease discomfort and stiffness, without really knowing where your ‘pain in the neck’ comes from. Maybe you are nursing an old whiplash injury or recovering from an emotional shock.

My BSR story:

I was first introduced to BSR when I was about 8 years old. My mother suffered from frequent unbearable migraines. She discovered BSR and after three sessions her migraines went away. When I was in high school my grandparents went for BSR as well. I remember my grandfather walking into the session bent over and in an insane amount of pain. He walked out standing straighter and smiling with his pain drastically decreased. At a young age I was amazed at how BSR helped my family.

Fast forward a couple of years, I’m stuck in an admin job feeling trapped and wondering how I can change my life around and get back to fulfilling my passion of helping people. I rediscovered BSR, read up on it, read all the case studies, the history of BSR and what it is, I was hooked. I booked my sessions and applied to study almost straight away.

I had a couple of concerns, restless legs, tinnitus, spasms in my neck, pins and needles in my arms, not the mention my various injuries from my 4 scooter accidents. EVERY discomfort I had went away with BSR, I was pain free.

While studying BSR I was reminded why I fell in love with it, that we work with the body, not against it and we believe the body heals itself. I also learned that pain is not normal and that we don’t have to settle for it. We can be pain free, our bodies can heal, it just needs the nudge in the right direction, and that is what BSR does.

As I mentioned before, my passion is to help people, which is why I started my career as a BSR Practitioner by doing a two week outreach at a Special Needs School in Mthatha.

My husband and I moved to New Zealand in 2023 and to Cambridge early this year. We have fallen in love with the town cannot wait to grow our family and become part of the community.

When we think we don't have time for ourselves is precisely the moment we need to make that time.

When we are so busy with work, or the demands of our family is high, or we have got so much to do – this sense of busy-ness is not good for our mental or physical wellbeing.

And, if you carry emotional stress for too long, it can become locked into your body. Our bodies can process and, in fact, welcome a certain amount of stress, but once the body cannot process the stress and is unable to release it, it can become locked in. When this happens, it is harder to process and release.

This is where Body Stress Release comes in. So, if you think you don't have time for BSR, think again.

Maybe the question you should be asking yourself is "How do I make time to prioritise my own wellbeing?"
