Music, good company and a great day out 🎺

A group of village residents headed to Morrinsville last weekend for a concert by the talented Band of the Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery.

Huge thanks to Doug and Bill for organising the trip — a great time was had by all.

There’s been a lot happening on-site in the last few weeks here at Vogel Street! 🌞⭐️
The foundations have been poured for the new apartment building.
So there's been some especially busy mornings for the construction team ⏰, approx. 170m3 of concrete, and a lot of concrete trucks. Things are definitely taking shape!

Chocolate Cake Day (yes, it’s a real thing) gave us the best excuse to do more baking with residents. We made chocolate cake and cupcakes - mission happily accomplished!

Sunflowers and Strawberries! 🌻🍓
We’ve been making the most of the weather lately and getting out and about exploring the area 🚐
We took a drive out to The Taupiri Sunflower Farm - fields and fields of glorious bright yellow blooms 🌻
And we went for a sweet morning at the Ruakura Berry Shop strawberry farm with ice cream and fresh strawberries… the perfect way to start the day! 🍓🍦

Congratulations to Kevin Burgess on being named a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) in the New Year’s Honours List. Kevin is known for so many amazing contributions to our community, and he holds a special place for us, as he is a trustee of Cambridge Resthaven. This is a truly well-deserved honour, and we are absolutely thrilled for Kevin and family.
