TYPE 2 DIABETES

The Lipid and Diabetes Research Group is conducting a clinical trial to investigate an oral medication.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if:

• You are aged 18-65 years
• Able to participate in a study for up to 17 weeks
• Treated with Metformin only for your diabetes
• Overweight: BMI > 30 kg/m2

The study will compare the active study drug to placebo (a ‘dummy’ medication) One person in four will receive the placebo and three people in four will receive active study drug. This will be decided randomly and participants will not know which of these they receive during the study.
