Coughs, colds, runny noses, sneezes - I feel like we have had it all here the past 2 weeks!
It's my daughter's first winter at preschool so hopefully next winter we get off a bit lighter. I have been lucky enough to stay healthy (touch wood, no-one jinx me) and I put that down to daily vitamins and eating reasonably well ..

Please note I am in no way giving medical advice and please do talk to your doctor if you wish to get some vitamins to help boost your natural immune system.
Here is what I take daily: Vitamin C, Zinc & Vitamin D (fortnightly). I also take a multi vitamin daily.

HOWEVER on top of that we also eat lots of foods rich in vitamin c, we could go through 2 heads of broccoli a week, I buy bananas twice a week to ensure we always have nice ripe bananas in the fruit bowl, kiwi fruit is a frequent in the fruit bowl also and I have frozen berries in the freezer. I am lucky my daughter LOVES them and will eat them thawed - I prefer them thawed on top of greek yoghurt or overnight oats as they do go a bit mushy.

See if you can add some extra vitamin c into your diet this week, add some crushed garlic into a meal, enjoy a warm lemon water on these cold days!

Eat whole, drink water, be active, stay healthy!!

Dark Chocolate Vs Milk Chocolate - Which is best?!

Rumour has it dark chocolate has less calories than milk chocolate however the truth is they are both much of a muchness..

BUT!

When it comes to choosing your sweet treat keep these other things in mind which may sway your decision.

Dark chocolate has a higher cocoa percentage which is where all the good benefits come from so the more processed milk chocolate is and the less cocoa percentage is what makes milk chocolate the least healthy choice.

Dark chocolate contains more magnesium which leads to a better nights sleep!

And if those reasons above were not enough to persuade you, you will be less likely to over eat dark chocolate which again leads to a better healthier option.

Unpopular opinion! πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ
