Rising track star Sam Tanner has had a busy couple of weeks claiming the revered New Zealand mile championship and adding the national 3000m title in a rapid time ⚡

As he eyes up a busy 2024 and making a splash at the Paris Olympics, it’s his love of surfing and other sports that make him the perfect Balance is Better Champion.

He wants to inspire people to stay in sport longer by living a more balanced lifestyle, and we can't think of anyone better than Sam to share that message 🙌

We've launched our four-stage Balance is Better campaign today, encouraging young people to get involved and support all sports to grow participation numbers. 📈

All Black Will Jordan and Black Fern Maia Roos are also NZR Balance is Better Champions, helping to influence positive change by sharing their stories and experiences as part of the campaign.
