Fantastic recognition for our very own Dylan Moore on being awarded the Paralympians Alumni Scholarship at the ParaFed Canterbury awards evening. Dylan puts in the work not just at our trainings but also in his own time every week. Do the mahi, get the treats. Congrats Dylan!

🤩 Our very own Wheelchair Basketball New Zealand Women’s Player of the Year Chloe Peck was on hand to deliver some expert coaching and knowledge to Timaru Boys as well as Ashburton College, Mt Hutt College and Ōpihi at the Sport Canterbury No Limits Sports Day. Another example of great leadership from one of our young players. Way to go Chloe! We’re glad that they boys had a great time playing our sport. 🏀🔥

This Summer League, we’re showing what true team spirit really looks like. Even with some of our teammates unwell or unable to play, we’ve stepped up, filled the gaps, and supported each other every step of the way. That’s what our basketball family is all about — adapting, lifting one another up, and proving that when one of us can’t roll onto the court, the rest of us roll harder. Together we play, together we grow, and together we keep the Canterbury wheelchair basketball spirit strong. 💪🖤🏀

A few moments from our Rollars representing on the world stage…and we couldn’t be more proud! The NZ men’s Roller Blacks finished the IWBF AOZ Championships with 3 big wins and 2 very narrow losses. An amazing achievement and our Rollars all had big input into the team’s success. Rolling out of Thailand with 11th showed the huge improvement and growth this team has achieved in less than 2 years. Way to go Eamon, Tyler & Curtis! Improvement comes through hard work and countless hours of training, and Travis was there for all of the hard yards over the last 2 years as well. Respect. 📸 X-1 / IWBF

Dylan, Kyle, Liam, Graham and our very own Paralympian Evan were out at Kaiapoi North School sharing the love of the game with the staff and students this week. Amazing leadership from our young players Dylan & Kyle who spoke about the challenge and competitiveness of playing while our older players had korero about the comradeship and sense of belonging that the sport brings. Powerful stuff. The students were awesome with so many getting to connect with the wheelchair game. Among so many cool students, Mason was our Kaiapoi North player of the day. Massive thanks to Mr Hamish Dale who refereed games for us at Nationals for organising the day. Great fun and great connection.

Great recognition for one of our Rollars! Way to go Kyle.

In the first of our 2025 player profiles, we proudly celebrate three incredible Canterbury Rollers — Curtis, Eamon, and Tyler — who have been teammates, rivals, and lifelong friends for over two decades. Their journey through wheelchair basketball, countless Canterbury events shows what dedication, passion, and teamwork can achieve.🙌

Each of them has represented New Zealand in both wheelchair basketball and together they’ve built a legacy of excellence and perseverance here in Christchurch with the Canterbury Wheelchair Basketball Rollers.

Now, for the first time, these three Southern men are united on the same court, representing Aotearoa as members of the New Zealand Senior Men’s Roller Blacks! 🇳🇿

Their story is a powerful reminder to our junior and emerging players — dream big, work hard, and one day, you could be wearing that black singlet too.

Let’s go, Southern men! 💪❤️

🔥 Game Update! 🔥Rollers Summer League
31- Rise Up 24 Team Won
What a game last night! It was fast, fierce, and full of energy from start to finish. Both teams brought incredible defence, quick transitions, and some seriously impressive shooting! 🎯

The pace never slowed down, and the teamwork on display was awesome to watch — everyone left it all out on the court. 💪

Games like this remind us why we love wheelchair basketball — the passion, the hustle, and the fun that keeps us all inspired! 🏀❤️
