Sleep-related eating disorders are characterized by abnormal eating patterns during the night.

Although it is not as common as sleepwalking, nocturnal sleep-related eating disorder (NS-RED) can occur during sleepwalking. People with this disorder eat while they are asleep. They often walk into the kitchen and prepare food without a recollection for having done so. If NS-RED occurs often enough, a person can experience weight gain and increase their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

A closely related disorder, known as night eating syndrome (NES), is diagnosed when a person eats during the night with full awareness and may be unable to fall asleep again unless they eat.

Symptoms of NES include the following and often persist for at least two months:
Little or no appetite for breakfastEating more food after dinner than during the mealEating more than half of daily food intake after dinner hourRecurrent awakenings from sleep that require eating to fall back asleepNS-RED and NES differ, in that people with NES eat when they are conscious. However, the disorders are similar in that they both are hybrids of sleep and eating disorders. Both of these conditions can interfere with an individual's nutrition, cause shame, and result in depression and weight gain.
Both men and women are vulnerable to these disorders, but they are more common among women. One in 100 people are thought to have NES. Close to 5% suffer from NS-RED. The number of people affected by these disorders increases up to 17% in those with other eating disorders. Many of these individuals diet during the day, which may leave them hungry and vulnerable to binge eating at night, when their control is weakened by sleep. In some cases, people with sleep-related eating disorders have histories of alcoholism, drug abuse, and other sleep disorders.

Ovarian cysts are solid or fluid-filled pockets in or on your o***y. They’re common, especially in women who are pregnant or who haven’t gone through menopause yet. Most of the time, they’re painless and harmless. You might get one every month as part of your menstrual cycle and never know it. They usually go away on their own without treatment.

A cyst becomes a problem when it doesn’t go away or gets bigger. It can become painful. There’s also the possibility of cancer, but it’s rare. The chances go up as you get older

Ovarian Cyst SymptomsSudden, severe belly painPain with fever and throwing upDizziness, weakness, or feeling faintFast breathing

Ovarian Cyst Causes
Follicle cyst: Your ovaries usually release one egg each month. It grows inside a tiny sac called a follicle. When the egg is ready, the follicle breaks open and releases it. If the sac doesn’t open, it causes a follicle cyst. These often go away in 1 to 3 months. Corpus luteum cyst: Once the egg is released, the empty follicle usually shrinks and helps get ready for the next egg. It becomes a cyst when it closes back up and fluid collects inside. It may go away in a few weeks. But it may bleed or cause pain as it grows.

Under normal circumstances, people rarely choke during a meal. Occasionally, food will stick in the esophagus for a few seconds (especially solid foods), but will pass spontaneously or can be washed down easily with liquids. But there are a number of symptoms that you should get checked for a possible swallowing problem, including:
Frequent choking on foodHesitancy in food passage for more than a few secondsPain when swallowingRecurring pneumonia (an indication that food may be going into the lungs rather than the esophagus).

If you have a chewing or swallowing problem there are several things you can do to make eating and drinking easier and safer, including:
Sit upright at a 90-degree angle.Tilt your head slightly forward.Remain sitting upright or standing for 15 to 20 minutes after eating a meal.Minimize distractions in the area where you eat.Stay focused on the tasks of eating and drinking.Do not talk with food in your mouth.Eat slowly.Cut food into small pieces and chew it thoroughly. Chew food until it becomes liquid in your mouth before swallowing.Do not try to eat more than 1/2 teaspoon of food at a time.

A sore throat is pain, scratchiness or irritation of the throat that often worsens when you swallow. The most common cause of a sore throat (pharyngitis) is a viral infection, such as a cold or the flu. A sore throat caused by a virus resolves on its own.

Strep throat (streptococcal infection), a less common type of sore throat caused by bacteria, requires treatment with antibiotics to prevent complications. Other less common causes of sore throat might require more complex treatment.

Signs and symptoms might include:
Pain or a scratchy sensation in the throatPain that worsens with swallowing or talkingDifficulty swallowingSore, swollen glands in your neck or jawSwollen, red tonsilsWhite patches or pus on your tonsilsA hoarse or muffled voice

The best way to prevent sore throats is to avoid the germs that cause them and practice good hygiene. Follow these tips and teach your child to do the same:
Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently, especially after using the toilet, before eating, and after sneezing or coughing.Avoid sharing food, drinking glasses or utensils.Cough or sneeze into a tissue and throw it away. When necessary, sneeze into your elbow.Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers as an alternative to washing hands when soap and water aren't available.Avoid touching public phones or drinking fountains with your mouth.Regularly clean telephones, TV remotes and computer keyboards with sanitizing cleanser. When you travel, clean phones and remotes in your hotel room.Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

How to Lower Cholesterol with Diet

Your body needs some cholesterol to work properly. But if you have too much in your blood, it can stick to the walls of your arteries and narrow or even block them. This puts you at risk for coronary artery disease and other heart diseases.

Heart-healthy lifestyle changes include a diet to lower your cholesterol.
Choose healthier fats:You should limit both total fat and saturated fat. No more than 25 to 35 percent of your daily calories should come from dietary fats, and less than 7 percent of your daily calories should come from saturated fat. Eat plenty of soluble fiber:Foods high in soluble fiber help prevent your digestive tract from absorbing cholesterol. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables: A diet rich in fruits and vegetables can increase important cholesterol-lowering compounds in your diet. These compounds, called plant stanols or sterols, work like soluble fiber.Eat fish that are high in omega-3 fatty acids:These acids won't lower your LDL level, but they may help raise your HDL level. They may also protect your heart from blood clots and inflammation and reduce your risk of heart attack. Limit salt:You should try to limit the amount of sodium (salt) that you eat to no more than 2,300 milligrams (about 1 teaspoon of salt) a day. That includes all the sodium you eat, whether it was added in cooking or at the table, or already present in food products.Limit alcohol:Alcohol adds extra calories, which can lead to weight gain. Being overweight can raise your LDL level and lower your HDL level.
