Providing over 20 years of experience in physiotherapy& over 10 years of Pilates teaching to both individuals and groups. Kate Horton set up her own business, Kate Physio Limited. I am an experience physiotherapist based in Cashmere and able to provide both ACC and private physiotherapy to anyone who has suffered an injury or who has ongoing aches and pains. I also am a fully certified pilates instructor and can help all ages to improve their posture and muscle balance. I can do one on one sessions or small groups. 💕A big thumbs 👍 to my current Pilates clients… you are all working so hard and making great progress. Loving the energy today with my 4 classes despite the heat 😅 🥵

💕October sure was busy and just like that we are now in November…. Keep an eye out for some posts coming soon to let you know ow about Xmas and New Year Pilates drop in classes.

💕Please do reach out if you’d like to see new content on the online library…. I will be blocking some time to record more over the summer. (Spring has just been busy both at my home clinic and at Active Health).

💕Let me know what you enjoy about Pilates and what keeps bringing you back? Sometimes I find patients are amazed that after just a few sessions they can feel how their body is moving more easily or with more strength and confidence.

☔️ One more sleep and are you ready for Term 4 Pilates?

☔️Class planning is done ✅ school holidays almost over and who is ready to get back to routine?

☔️It has been a busy mix of skiing, gardening and family time for Kate.

☔️Physioled clinical Pilates mat classes are starting up from tomorrow come rain ☔️ or shine ☀️ Kate will be ready to greet you….. to have fun, moving together safely.

☔️Keep an eye out if you are on the waiting list as changes do happen most weeks, please also let Kate or Active Health know if you can’t make a class ( so those waiting can take their place)

☔️Welcoming some regular and some new clients back to the mat. Don’t forget to bring your ball or band if you have them.

🌸Have you booked your place in Pilates Term 4 yet?

🌸This is a friendly reminder there is one more week of school holidays before the next block of classes starts on Monday 6th October.

🌸Some classes are already full with waiting list options and some have spaces. Simply visit www.katephysio.co.nz or email kate on pilates@katephysio.co.nz for more details.

🌸Spring is always a busy time of year, let’s keep healthy and active by moving in a fun supportive way in Kate’s classes. 6 classes will be held again this term along with the option of Kate’s online library membership.

🌎 Happy World Physiotherapy Day 2025!

🌎 Here are a few pictures of my places of work and I am lucky enough to mix my physiotherapy skills with my clinical pilates practice most days.

🌎 Thankyou to my friends, family and current and past patients and pilates clients for supporting me at both and to support you to keep active and injury free

🌎 Today I enjoyed teaching a few Pilates classes, coffee with my Monday morning clients, a few physio patients at my home clinic and my evening classes where we worked hard for our week 8 classes…..having fun in a safe, supported, community. I feel privileged to call this my job.

🌸Qualified as a Physio in UK 24years ago
🌸Qualified as a certified Pilates matwork instructor over 16years ago
🌸Been living in Nz over 15years

🌎 Don’t forget to book your space in Term 4 Pilates classes in October…. Bookings opened last Friday and some are already fully booked. 🦋 Monday mid back moves…. Do you want to loosen your upper back?

🦋Start the week with these great stretches…. Try 3-5 of each, breathing with each movement.

🦋Pilates is a great mix of mobility and strength work. Which one of these is your favourite?

❄️ Can you spare 5 minutes on a cold wintry day to give these moves a try? Bringing you some weekend moves to strengthen your core…. If you don’t have a mini pilates ball then just use your hand on your knee.

❄️Enjoy these different levels of scissors to strengthen your deep abdominals and hip flexors.

❄️Warm up well….Try 5-8reps of each level and let me know how you find it?

❄️Awesome work to the over 50pilates clients who came to week 1 sessions….. lovely to be back on the mat moving and having fun.

🐬 One more sleep and Pilates term 3 classes start tomorrow…. Please bring your Pilates ball, theraband and mat if you have them…. Ready to move, stretch, strengthen and have fun in a safe Physioled environment 👍😊

🐬Equipment available if required.

🐬A quick reminder to pay your invoices if still outstanding to confirm your place. Some classes do have waiting lists so please do let us know each week if you can’t make a session.

Our Story

Kate Physio Limited continues to be open under Covid-19 Level 2 restrictions. Although it is not the news we wanted to hear, we need to all work together to support our team of 5million. Face to face appointments and Pilates classes can continue with increased health and safety measures. Online consultations are still available using Telehealth if required. Please contact Kate for further details of how to book in.

Kate Horton of Kate Physio Limited is happy to be combining her skills as a physiotherapist alongside her love of Pilates. She enjoys helping the local community and happy to see people of all ages.

Kate is an experience physiotherapist based in Cashmere and able to provide both ACC and private physiotherapy to anyone who has suffered an injury or who has ongoing aches and pains.

Kate is also a fully certified Pilates instructor and can help all ages to improve their posture and muscle balance. Kate can do one on one sessions or small group classes up to 12 people. These are held in Beckenham at Beckenham methodist church and also at Active Health gym, 545 Manchester street.
