Angie (Rodger Wright Centre Peer Worker) and Leah (Hep C Clinic Nurse) recently attended the Hagley College Health Expo day. It was a great chance to chat with students around safe tattooing and piercing, and to answer any questions about drug use and hep C. Awesome opportunity to network with other health services around Ōtautahi too.

Come see us for a 5 minute test. Simple as that!

You could be someone who has hep C without knowing it. That’s because even though the symptoms can be barely noticeable, hep C can lead to serious illness. So, if you think you might have been exposed in the past, it’s worth getting tested just to make sure.

If you’re symptomatic, you should take a rapid antigen test (RAT). You need to report the results following the steps shown in the graphic below 👇

Here's some other handy testing tips:
1️⃣ Got back from overseas and tested positive using a RAT? Please seek a PCR test via a general practice.
2️⃣ If you have an infant under 2 years old and need support to get a good sample using a RAT, please contact your general practice who can provide support.
3️⃣ If you're immunocompromised and test positive via a RAT, you need to notify your general practice and arrange additional support at the same time if you are unwell or concerned.
4️⃣ If you're unable to self-test for any reason, please also seek support from your general practice.
