Celebrating International Women's Day
Remembering Romana Kryzanowska
Romana Kryzanowska was introduced to Joseph Pilates in 1941 and trained closely with Joe and Clara Pilates in New York, mastering the Contrology method. After Joe’s death in 1968, she continued working with Clara and preserved the Pilates studio and method.
Romana went on to teach Pilates worldwide and developed a formal training programme for instructors. Following her death in 2013, her legacy is continued by her daughter Sari and granddaughter Daria.
We are proud to be a Romana’s Pilates studio and to teach this enduring legacy.
“You can say what Pilates is in three words. Stretch with Strength and Control. And the control part is the most important because that makes you use your mind”
Romana Kryzanowska
