This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, together with Care On Call, we chose to support Look Good Feel Better NZ, an organisation that supports people living with cancer through free programmes that boost confidence, wellbeing, and help them feel like themselves again during treatment.

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing team, our donation drive raised $280 to support their incredible mahi!

To wrap up our campaign, we held a vibrant Pink Day at our Ops Conference; a chance to come together as a team, raise awareness, and show support for people and whānau affected by cancer.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, dressed up, and helped make this month so meaningful. Your generosity and aroha have made a real difference 🩷

Last week we celebrated the opening of our beautiful new Invercargill office; he rā whakahirahira!
It was a truly special occasion, bringing together most of our dedicated team (minus a few due to weather restrictions), including those who travelled from Otago, and David, our CEO, who joined us from Auckland. We were also honoured to have our local NASC colleagues attend and share in the celebration. He mihi nui ki a koutou katoa i tae mai.
This new space provides us with a friendly, calm, and inviting environment in which we are excited to be able to share it with our support staff, clients, and the wider community.
Moments like these remind us of the importance of coming together - whanaungatanga - celebrating progress, and creating spaces that support wellbeing - hauora -and collaboration - mahi tahi.

We’re thinking of all our kiritaki, support workers, and their whānau across the South Island as the severe weather warnings continue.

Please take extra care and keep an eye on the latest updates and follow the official advice for your local area; stay indoors, and avoid driving unless you absolutely have to. If you do need to travel, go slowly and arrive safely.

Your wellbeing matters to us. Look after yourselves, and each other. 🫂

Our incredible Christchurch team hit Hagley Park over the weekend for the Pink Ribbon Walk, and the energy was just amazing 😊

It was such a privilege to walk alongside survivors, supporters, and whānau; every step filled with hope, love, and a whole lot of pink! 🩷🎀

We’re so proud to support Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and be part of such a meaningful event that brings our community together each year. Kia kaha!

This week we’re celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori - Māori Language Week - and taking the opportunity to bring a little more Te Reo into our daily lives at Florence Nightingale Agency ❤

Language is a powerful way to connect, and for everyone in our community, including the kiritaki we care for and the team who support them, using Te Reo in everyday kōrero (conversation) can help keep it alive in our kāinga (homes) and hapori (communities) 🌱💬

We’ve gathered a few simple Te Reo Māori kupu (words) and kīanga (phrases) that you can use with kiritaki and whānau. Why not try using one this week?

Dawn and Laura from our Southland and Otago team had a fantastic time at the Summer Jobs and Beyond Careers Expo today!
We loved connecting and kōrero with current students and soon-to-be graduates interested in community health. It was a super busy day, but such a rewarding one! Thank you to the University of Otago for having us 🤩

💛🌼 Last Friday our Christchurch office team proudly wore a splash of yellow in support of Daffodil Day.

Daffodil Day is about more than just bright colours; it’s about standing together to raise awareness and vital funds for the Cancer Society, helping support those affected by cancer and their whānau.

Every daffodil represents hope, and we’re honoured to play a part in spreading that message. 🌼💛

Today we wear a splash of yellow to show our support for those impacted by cancer. Daffodil Day is the Cancer Society’s biggest annual fundraiser, helping to provide free support services for patients and whānau, and vital funding for cancer research across Aotearoa. 💛

A very special moment in our office today! ✨

We were delighted to welcome local artist Shawn Ridley and his teacher Maree, who visited to present us with one of Shawn’s incredible original paintings. 🎨

The piece was approved by the Galleries Committee to support Shawn as an artist, and we feel very privileged to have been chosen to receive this beautiful gift.

Our Canterbury Client Service Managers, Rebecca Macvey and Rachel Gardner, accepted the artwork on behalf of Florence Nightingale Agency.
