The first thing that babies wear is a bodysuit and you're going to want to wear it directly against the skin, in a size that fits perfectly (hence the newborn size in this bundle). This will keep them cool in the hot summer months better than cotton and help to prevent them from sweating. Then add the merino nightgown on top for overnight sleeping. During the day sleeps you might skip this step in the very warm summer months. Finally swaddle in the wrap - which becomes the blanket. You can also add the knotted beanie for head warmth when out and about or sleeping in the stroller.
