Using your loved one's ashes, or a keepsake, we can put it into the bears tummy and give you something to cherish and remember them by.
If you would like to talk about this with me, or have other ideas for a bear, just get in touch, we'll make it happen.

Pure hand dyed NZ wool, should be roughly 10cm tall at completion.

I'm happy to announce that I will now be doing old bear repairs. So if you have an old Ted friend who's been in the wars or has seen better days - or perhaps needs new eyes to see at all! Then they are welcome to come and convalesce at The Bear Necessities NZ where we will restore them to their former glory. Age isn't a factor, I've worked on a mid-1950's bear, and on a present-day Care Bear. We don't discriminate! So dig out your old friend and see if they could do with a tickle up. (We do a surface cleaning service too!)

After a slow week, Harry is coming along to completion. Can't wait to see his wee personality shine through.

18 years and counting...

Way back in 2000 (when I was just 14yrs old) I started making teddy bears. They were primitive, but popular. Nothing like what I make today, even the materials are different! I traded under the name Bumblefoot Bears.

I had a passion for it. And over the intervening years, I have done so many things, but I keep coming back to bears. Being in a wheelchair and repeated hospital stays has actually been impacted by my bears more than you’d think. It means I have something to focus on when unpleasant things are happening, and I’ve been known to take a bear with me into surgery or treatment. W.G. Bradford Esq. he’s a well-travelled bear!

Here we are in 2018 and I’ve finally got the right kind of schedule to make my creations on a regular basis, and to a standard that I’m happy with. I’m giving this a go!

So here they are, and here’s my story. I hope it gives insight to our background and our brand.
