Onelife is a Holistic Lifestyle and Exercise Coaching practice dedicated to helping people like you take control of their health and happiness, for now, and the future. Most disease takes 15-20 years to manifest. That means the lifestyle choices you make “now”, determine how likely you are to experience disease “then”. I'm Shelly. I'm a Holistic Lifestyle Coach passionate about seeing people achieve their goals and live awesome lives. I help by support them in taking control of the health issues which might be standing in the way, chipping away at breaking the old unhelpful lifestyle habits, and building new, supportive ones. Also trained as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner and a lifelong learner with a passion for all things which improve overall performance and quality of life, I have a breadth and depth of knowledge which I like to keep in my toolbox in order to better serve my clients. I believe in walking my talk, and would not likely ever ask a client to do something I haven’t tried myself, so you can rest assured that during the times when change is challenging, I understand! Seeing people experience positive results in their lives as a result of making different choices lifts me up, and knowing that I’ve played a positive role gives me a sense of fulfilment. It is my purpose in life, what I was born to do.

Holistic Lifestyle and Exercise Coaching

Onelife is a Holistic Lifestyle and Exercise Coaching practice dedicated to helping people like you take control of their health and happiness. It is likely you’ll agree that just because someone is not sick, it does not mean he or she is healthy. Most disease takes 15-20 years to manifest. That means the lifestyle choices you make “now”, determine how likely you are to experience disease “then”. The CHEK approach recognizes that the body is a system of systems, and as such the physical manifestation of pain and compromised health often has its root cause in the 6 foundations of health, being thought, hydration, movement, nutrition, breath and sleep. True health and disease cannot co-exist inside the same body. Although symptoms are signals from our body that something is amiss, my approach is to coach the client back to health, rather than treat those symptoms. Optimal health is created simply by making the body an inhospitable place for dis-ease! Whether you are new to the idea of holistic health, are someone who considers themselves fairly healthy, or are experiencing health challenges such as fatigue, digestive disorders, or mental health challenges, and want to learn how to take the best care of yourself so that you can do what you love to do, at your best, now and a long time into the future, I’ll assess your current health and lifestyle, and design a plan to suit your needs and optimize your potential, and coach you thru it with support and encouragement to make it all stick. I began my journey in the fitness industry over 20 years ago, knowing I wanted to make a positive difference in how people feel both within themselves, and about themselves. As a personal trainer I was privileged to work with many amazing people, but learnt that even working one to one with people, what worked for one person didn’t work for another, and that often, no matter how diligently I applied my knowledge of exercise science and prescription I had been taught, many of my clients (and I) still experienced challenges I had no idea how to help them overcome. So when our first child came along, despite intending to get back to work A.S.A.P, I instead chose to take a good step away, and enjoy raising our children while they were young. It was during this time that I heard of the CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coaching Program, and discovered a system that taught and expanded on the principles I’d been applying to my own life whilst taking this break. Principles that had resulted in better digestion, less food cravings, weight normalization without fluctuations, eliminating muscular skeletal pain and injuries, more energy, and a greater sense of happiness. This was what I had been looking for and in 2007 I began studying! I haven’t stopped since! I love to lift weights, run, practice yoga, walk in nature, practice meditation, play in the waves, and with my kids, cook, eat, read, watch movies, and spent time chatting with my husband. And I enjoy living a lifestyle that supports all that! I love to cook and learn about food and how it affects us in different ways, and all the other many facets that make us whole and healthy, and sharing my knowledge and experiences with others just seems natural! I believe in walking my talk, and would not likely ever ask a client to do something I haven’t tried myself, so you can rest assured that during the times when change is challenging, I understand!
