The School of Physiotherapy clinic provides physiotherapy services to the local christchurch community. Final year physiotherapy students work at The School of Physiotherapy Clinic during the University term time. Patients can choose to be treated by a student or a member of the clinic teaching staff. The clinic prvides physiotherapy treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including muscle and joint problems and sports injuries. Exercise programmes are prescribed for rehabilitation and for management of age related conditions such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and diabetes. All staff are trained to administer the Otago Exercise Programme for falls prevention. Specialist services include acupuncture, and physiotherapy for mental health.

Seeking participants for a research study exploring experiences of people with a shoulder dislocation.

We ask them to share their experiences about the injury, health care, and how they manage potential recurrences and fear or anxiety about recurrence.

We are inviting individuals who have had a traumatic shoulder dislocation within the past 6 months to 5 years and are between 16 and 35 years old.

Participants will be asked to complete an electronic questionnaire and attend an interview with the researchers (in person, or by Zoom/Skype or telephone).

Researchers: A/Prof Gisela Sole, Dr Margie Olds

The study is supported by a grant from the NZ Manipulative Physiotherapy Association.

Approved by the University of Otago Human Ethics Committee (Health)

Final year physio students spend 6 weeks in our clinic working one-on-one with you to help you recover from injuries as part of their training to become qualified physios.

Seeing a student comes at a reduced rate, however you will still receive high quality care!

The Christchurch School of Physiotherapy Clinic provides physiotherapy services to the local community. Final year physiotherapy students work and study at the clinic, during the University term time. Patients can choose to be treated by a student or a member of the clinical teaching staff. Other services include acupuncture, clinical pilates, occupational health physiotherapy and massage.
