Hereās the thing - there is a missing link.
Our bodies are designed to respond to threats with the fight or flight response, but modern stressors mean that this response can be constantly triggered and get stuck on. This ongoing stress (real or percieved), exhausts us emotionally and physically because our bodies donāt get a chance to go into relax and repair mode (parasympathetic mode) which is CRUCIAL for healing.
There is hope
Symptoms are just a signal, or message from our innately intelligent body. Yes, eating healthy, sleep and exercise, and actively finding ways to elicit the relaxation response in our body are very important components of a healthy, regulated nervous system, but it is ESSENTIAL to also look at what is going on emotionally and mentally that is keeping the nervous system stuck in survival mode.
