The Midwifery Resource Centre is looking for new team members to help us run our community drop-in service to step into the drop in space working some of the days. The service is open Monday-Friday 12-2pm. We are looking for a midwife superstar that may be able to come in for training this week and ease into the role next week (covering Tuesday 8th in particular). There is some flexibility on days/hours and potential for growth in the future – we can discuss this further with you. Your role will include facilitating services for our community (pregnancy testing, navigation to midwifery care, resources, vaccination* etc) and for our midwives (providing supplies, resources, liaising about bookings), answering phone calls, texts and emails, festive list management and general daily tasks.

*Registered midwife preferred because we offer vaccinations services, however a student midwife may be considered

Kia ora hapū whānau! The MRC midwives are now doing flu and whooping cough vaccines for PREGNANT PEOPLE during our drop in hours! We will extend the hours as need grows. Head to our website to book yourself in! FREE IN PREGNANCY (Sorry whānau, at this point you have to have a bun in the oven for the midwives to administer the vaccine to you!)

Good morning everyone, the MRC is going to be closed this week until Thursday due to covid isolations. We will still be checking messages so if you need help with finding a midwife still send us a message and we will be back open for free pregnancy testing from Thursday 😊

Who is already thinking about Christmas? Probably nobody except midwives 😆😆 Mums just finding out they are pregnant now are due around Christmas/New year which is a notoriously difficult time to find a midwife. If you are pregnant and struggling to find a midwife please contact us, we will help you find a midwife and ensure you are getting maternity care all throughout the holiday period. We will be open tomorrow (17/2/22) 11-1 instead of our usual 12-2. Back to normal hours on Friday. Reminding everyone we are still open in the red light setting and available for:

-Free pregnancy tests
-Advice on the NZ maternity system
-Support finding or changing midwives

As we are a health service we do not require vaccine passports but do require you to wear a mask, scan in on arrival and only bring a maximum of one support person with you. Alternatively we are available via email, phone or PM Mon-Fri 12-2.
