Meet our new General Dentist, Michael Fu.

Kia ora! I’m originally from Hamilton and hold a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago. I trained and worked at Christchurch Hospital, where I developed a strong interest in urgent care, extractions, and helping people find relief from dental pain.

I am a calm, relaxed, and down-to-earth person who truly listens to people. I enjoy building trust with my patients and working together. I understand the Dentist can be a scary and confusing place where patients often don’t know what’s going on. That’s why I focus on creating a simple, relaxed and supportive environment where my patients feel safe, heard, and cared for. I always make sure my patients understand what's happening with their teeth every step of the way.

My favourite part of being a Dentist is helping people slowly build their confidence, and overcome their fears and anxieties about the Dentist, making sure they leave feeling happy and confident about their teeth.

Outside of Dentistry, I love playing hockey, running, yoga, dancing and music, and enjoying good food with friends and family!

At FENDALTON DENTAL, we bring you more than 35 years of combined clinical experience in dental practice.

We have learnt to use the best technology available and aspire to provide this in an ambience of comfort and care. Your positive and new dental experience starts right from the phone call you make, the moment you walk in through the door and looked after by our wonderful team. We aim to welcome everyone warmly, treat you with compassion and dignity respecting all cultural and ethnic sensitivities.

We moved to this high-profile premises at the corner of Glandovey and Idris Road intersection in 2011 after being displaced from the CBD. It's a building with lots of character on the outside and plenty of clinical skills awaiting within and with ample Free-onsite parking. We offer comprehensive services in general, cosmetic and surgical dentistry. We are hugely community-focused as Keith and his team volunteer regularly at the Canterbury Charity Hospital providing Free Dental Services to the underprivileged. We also take part in Colgate and NZDA Free Dental Programmes providing our times, skills and services to the needy.
