With over 12 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry I can honestly say I feel lucky to have found a career that enables me to do what I love. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend the majority of my day than assisting people with their health and fitness. From all walks of life within all different settings such as gyms, community groups, hospitals, workplaces and schools I feel motivated and inspired every time a client arrives at training. My favourite moments are when my clients start correcting their own technique and their facial expression when they reach their goals. As a Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, too often people have said to me “I didn’t think you’d eat that” or “I didn’t serve you x, y z because I didn’t think you’d eat it” or “I won’t tell anymore that you ate that” or “I can’t sit with you because you’ll judge me”. 🫣 As somebody who has rode the rollercoaster of warped body image, disordered eating and hormone imbalances these comments were brutal and confronting at times. These are all reminders to myself to keep showing up and supporting those who are open to listen. The demographic of people I work with are very intelligent but we’ve been exposed to some terrible media and now social media. It takes time to unlearn and build confidence in a different way of living and viewing the world.
Calories and nutrients from food is only one aspect of eating. The cultural, psychological and environmental aspects of eating are also so important.

Lifting heavier or challenging weights over time is always the goal to become stronger. This is progressive overload. Your “heavy” is proportional to your strength and specific requirements. If you’re not mindfully connected to your body, it is hard to lift heavier and perform more challenging movements. Understanding what movements will strengthen YOUR body and how much is key. I love using the reformer to fine tune, mobilise, connect and bring more awareness to enhance my clients ability to function more optimally and build strength / muscle.
