How amazing is this news!! We are so proud 😍💙

🎉 We’re proud to announce that our Blue Brothers men’s fitness class for those living with cancer has been ACC-accredited and approved by Sport Canterbury! 🎉

A huge congratulations to our amazing trainer Colleen, whose dedication and expertise helped Fit 4 Life achieve this certification under the Live Stronger for Longer initiative - supporting strength, balance, and wellbeing to help prevent falls and fractures.

💪 Together, we’re building stronger, healthier lives!

Special thanks to Dallace Lilley for helping us grow into the group we are today, and to Cancer Society Marlborough for being an unwavering partner in providing exercise classes for our brothers in Marlborough 🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♂️ It’s been an amazing two years working together, and we’re excited for what we can achieve moving forward.

Here’s to many more milestones ahead and a reason for having more cake!🍰🍰

Blue Brothers

Established in 2021, the Blue Brothers Charitable Trust was founded by David Cattermole to support men living with cancer through free exercise classes that build strength, connection, and camaraderie - without financial barriers.

𝗜𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗕𝗥𝗖𝗧, 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 $𝟮,𝟵𝟰𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀.

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1.30pm at Fit 4 Life Studio, Ashburton, offering a supportive space where men can build physical and mental wellbeing through movement and connection.

These classes not only help participants feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally, but also foster motivation, self-worth, and a sense of belonging. The trust also extends their support to whānau through dedicated coffee groups.

Sadly, David passed away in 2024, however this has only strengthened the Trust’s motivation to continue his vision and provide excellent outreach to those living with this disease. We’re proud to support this initiative and the vision of David, whose legacy of compassion and inclusion lives on through his powerful words:

The event focused on raising awareness of Men’s Health while emphasising the value of taking an active role in regular health screenings and check-ups.
