You know that little voice in your head that never stops talking?
The one that reminds you of what you should be doing, replays old conversations, or worries about what might happen next?
Yeah⊠that one.
I used to get completely caught up in it thinking that was me.
Until I read The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer, and something really clicked.
He says weâre not the voice at all⊠weâre the one listening to it.
And when I actually started to notice that voice instead of believing it, everything shifted.
I remember sitting outside one morning my mind racing with all the things I needed to do and I just thought,
âWow, I donât have to follow every thought.â
So I didnât.
I just breathed, noticed, and let them float past.
And for a moment, it was quiet.
Like really quiet.
My body softened. My energy felt lighter. I could finally hear myself again.
Thatâs what this book reminded me ... peace doesnât come from fixing everything out there. It comes from loosening your grip on the noise inside.
So if your mindâs been busy lately, maybe try this:
Just watch it.
Donât judge it, donât fight it, just watch.
Youâll start to feel the space between you and your thoughtsâŠ
and that space? Thatâs where your calm lives.
âš
Youâre not your thoughts.
Youâre the awareness behind them.
And when you remember that you start to feel free.
