Meet Kay – Our New Harm Reduction Nurse! 🌟

We're thrilled to welcome Kay to the DISC whānau at the Rodger Wright Centre! 🎉

Kay joins our team from the Christchurch Sexual Health Centre, where she’s been a strong supporter of our community for many years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise, along with a deep understanding of harm reduction and a kind, non-judgmental approach.

We’re so glad to have her skills and warmth at the Rodger Wright Community Clinic. 💜

Extremely proud to see our (DISC Trust) drug checking service continuing to grow!

❤️ OUR SECOND YEAR OF CONTINUOUS DRUG CHECKING SERVICES! ❤

🎉 On 20 April we celebrated our second anniversary of running continuous drug checking services! 🎉

Over the last year we’ve seen both client and sample numbers grow by over 40% compared to 2023-24, with new clients continuing to come through our doors – keeping themselves and their communities safer.

These growing numbers show the value of drug checking services and how much they are needed across Aotearoa, so that everyone across the motu can reduce risks to themselves and their whānau.

We’re proud of our team, their expertise and the mahi they do every week to help clients reduce risk of harm – providing safe, confidential and welcoming spaces for clients to talk openly about drugs, and expert, judgement-free harm reduction information and advice. Well done and thank you to all of our team, past and present, who have helped build the service into what it is today!

Thanks also to our friends across the drug checking network and harm reduction services – and most of all to our clients, who are the heart and soul of everything we do ❤

We’re excited for the next year and we’re always looking for way to expand access to our services for those who need them.
