✨Trust your knowing✨
There is a particular moment in life that is easy to miss if you are not paying attention. It is not loud and it does not arrive with drama or chaos. It is quieter than that. It feels more like something settling inside you — a recognition that lands in the body before the mind has had time to construct a story around it.
I have experienced this kind of knowing several times in my life, especially in relation to work. There were moments when I simply knew it was time to leave. Nothing catastrophic had happened. There was no obvious crisis. And yet somewhere deeper than logic, I could feel that my time there had completed.
What followed that knowing depended entirely on whether I chose to listen.
There were times I did not. I found sensible reasons to stay. I told myself it was more responsible, more practical, more secure. I convinced myself that perhaps I was being impulsive or unrealistic. And so I stayed, even though something in me had already shifted.
Once that inner threshold had been crossed, staying did not become easier. It became heavier. Not because the environment had suddenly changed but because I had. Each day I was reminded, in subtle ways, that I was no longer aligned with who I was becoming. It required more effort to show up fully. More effort to care in the same way. More effort to ignore what I already knew.
However when I did listen — when I chose to leave at the moment I knew it was time — the transition was often far smoother than I expected. Not necessarily effortless, but coherent. There was a sense of internal congruence, as though my outer movement matched something that had already happened within.
What I have come to understand is this: once you truly know, ignoring it does not dissolve it. Life has a way of bringing you back to the same decision point, again and again, sometimes gently, sometimes with increasing intensity. Not as punishment but as invitation.
There is a difference between not knowing yet and knowing but postponing. And that difference shapes the quality of your days.
