Kia ora whānau,

It’s been a full and busy few weeks here at Native Soul NZ, from carving and relashing mahi to completing Christmas orders right through into the New Year.

Brown lashing has been especially popular, so we’ve now sourced three different shades of brown to better complement the natural colour changes and contrast within each piece of Pounamu.

We’re grateful to have worked with so many beautiful taonga during this time. Here’s a glimpse of some of the relashing mahi we’ve recently completed, showcasing the stunning pounamu and carvings entrusted to us.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes, grounding ourselves in the wairua of our mahi and creating sacred taonga for your pēpi and whānau.

✨ Our Pito Muka Cutting Sets are now available — carved with aroha and intention to be treasured Taonga , passed down through the generations.

We have 4 beautiful options to choose from:

🍃 Smaller Raw Pounamu + Native Timber Board
🍂 Larger Raw Pounamu + Native Timber Board
🍃 Full Set – Pounamu + Board + Muka Tie (basic or with kōhatu: Amethyst, Rose Quartz, or Pounamu)
🍂Premium Set – Featuring a Pounamu Knife Blade Pito Cutter, native timber board + Muka tie

✨ Prices start at $260, with a variety of beautiful Pounamu options to choose from.

Why Muka?
Our Muka Pito Ties are a gentle, natural alternative to conventional clamps — soft against baby's skin, easy to use, and free from plastic. Muka has natural antibacterial properties that support fast, clean healing. Each tie is made using 100% natural fibres, traditionally harvested, prepared, and woven by us.

You’ll notice colour variations in our muka ties — from creamy whites to golden tans — due to the different flax varieties used. Each one holds its own unique mauri.

To ensure your set arrives in time, we recommend placing your order at least two weeks before your due date. While we aim to ship within 24 hours of purchase, life with pēpi can be unpredictable — so giving a little extra time helps us ensure your taonga gets to you in time.
