Clinical Massage Therapy in Dunedin

Within the clinic we have over 32 years experience in clinical massage therapy. Over the years we have assisted many clients ranging from Elite athletes to weekend pavement pounders, office administrators, pregnant mums, the sedentary to the very active. Each of these clients have similar goals, and that is to get their body moving as freely as it can and do so being pain free. Yvette Latta
I established Hands on Health -Latta Massage Therapy in 2005 after graduating with a diploma in Massage Therapy with distinction from the Canterbury college of Natural Medicine. I have been very fortunate to have travelled with the job I love to do which has taken me to the London and Beijing Olympics, track and field World champs in South Korea and Berlin with Athletics New Zealand, and numerous World Champs and World Cups with Rowing New Zealand. Day to day I still get a real buzz working with my regular clients, and seeing our new clients walk out of a treatment more upright and reduced pain. Each year I enjoy attending courses to further my knowledge, and will continue to do so to get the best for our clients. Emma Head
I graduated from the University of Teesside (UK) in 2005 with a BSc(Hons) in Sports Therapy. Since graduating my main focuse has been on clinical massage therapy, helping the individual to recover, repair and learn new strategies to help their body be the best it can be. I am always looking to improve on my skill set. I have additional qualifications and experience in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Pregnancy Massage and Relaxtion/Stress Management. Online booking is available at lattamassage.co.nz

Wall sits = simple, effective, no equipment needed. Perfect as a movement break if your sitting a lot, or post meal to reduce your blood sugar/insulin spike.
Build strength, reset your posture, balance blood sugar levels - all in under a minute
Start with 20-30 seconds and build up. Consistency is key

Suffering from shoulder pain? The scapula plays a key role in shoulder function.
If its movement or control is off, it can contribute to pain, reduced strength, and irritation.
Restoring control and coordination is often the missing piece.

Consistency is where the magic happens with healthy habits. It doesn't need to be perfect. 4-5 days out 7 a week is enough to push the needle in the right direction.
Consistency over perfection.

It's lovely day out there,
Be sure to make the most of that sunshine, take a break outside, get the sun on your face & arms, walk around the block, 'reset' when you can
Happy Wednesday 😃

Attended this workshop last night run by Dr Craig Harrison addressing pressure in Youth Sport
Many layers & levels of info to take away from this session. The overarching message I took away, was that no matter whether your a parent, coach, or sports club, dispondant with the high youth drop out rates in sport & irrelevant to whether the athlete is aiming for highest accolades, or in sport as a participant, there's better chances youth will stay in sport at any level if they have a strong sense of belonging to the team, club, sport, and fellow participants.
Shame some sports change from being club focussed to school driven at that crucial time in youth development when so much else is changing for them.
Connection, sense of belonging, and movement are all pillars of wellbeing, at any age.
