On a recent outing we visited the orchards around Gisborne, saw the corn fields, and even watched corn being harvested. We then enjoyed a cup of tea at Greys Hill Lookout. We took in the countryside views and chatted about the different places we could see from the lookout.

Balloon Tennis with pool noodles:
We had so much fun! There was a lot of laughter and quite a bit of bantering amongst one another. For some residents, a lot of effort is required to hit the balloon, keep it afloat and aim it in the right direction; such a great activity for working on hand-eye coordination. The residents had Dianne running around behind them helping, trying to hit the balloon and keeping it in play. It was certainly a good workout for all of us! An enjoyable and fun morning.

On our icecream days, Analyn sets up a trolley which she takes around the facility delivering ice cream to the residents...

On our icecream days, Analyn sets up a trolley which she takes around the facility delivering ice cream to the residents, all the while playing the cheery Mr. Whippy jingle. Analyn's ice cream day walks are a favourite amongst our residents, and the excitement starts building as soon as they see them on the planner. When the familiar music begins playing in the background, smiles appear instantly.

We can't help but notice the beauty in our gardens at the moment. When the weather is good enough, we love venturing out...

We recently enjoyed a fun trip to the aviation museum. This brought back a lot of memories for some of our residents, who said that being there made them feel like a child again. Many residents shared stories of people they knew who had worked there or had even flown some of the planes. They enjoyed talking about their history, the aircraft, and the memories that came to the surface during their visit.

We enjoyed our first game of putt putt golf! It took plenty of attempts, and a whole lot of consideration to hit the small ball, trying to aim it into the hole. We can't wait for our next game!

We were lucky enough to have the wonderful line dancing ladies come to entertain us yesterday morning at Leighton House. They were dressed up in their Christmas themed outfits including Santa hats and reindeer headbands.

Thank you ladies for your amazing dancing skills and for
entertaining our residents.
