Meet Damian

Damian Koppens is part-owner and Clinical Director at Paterson Burn, with special interests in orthokeratology, myopia control in children, keratoconus contact lenses, and dry eye treatment.

He previously chaired the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board, serves on a committee for the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand, and is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Auckland.

👁 Eye health tip: Encourage kids outdoors more often — it can help reduce the risk of myopia (short-sightedness), where distance vision becomes blurry. Signs include squinting, sitting close to screens, or difficulty seeing the classroom board.
