Hi NZ Startup Bootcamp supporters,

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, it is with considerable regret, that Soda Inc. has made a call to postpone the NZ Startup Bootcamp.

Over the last few weeks we have been keeping a close eye on COVID-19 updates from both the Government and the Ministry of Health. We have also been working closely with our key stakeholder and sponsor, Wintec, to decide if the Bootcamp should be postponed or cancelled due to the unfolding nature of this pandemic.

It is with regret that Soda Inc. has made a call to postpone the NZ Startup Bootcamp until further notice. We are doing this to ensure the health and safety of all involved in this event.

We understand this will be a huge disappointment for sponsors, mentors, speakers, judges, participants, their families/whānau, friends and staff who have been looking forward to this entrepreneurial weekend.

Soda hopes to hold the Bootcamp later in the year and will be in touch with more information as soon as possible.

If you would like to read Soda's new policy around COVID-19, you find it below.👇

While the full extent of COVID-19's global impact is yet unknown, it's a good idea to take precautionary measures to protect yourself, your employees and your business. In light of this pandemic, it's important to stay updated on health guidelines from trusted organizations like NZ Ministry of Healt...

Jason Lindsey is back by popular demand! We are lucky to have him as a mentor again at this year's NZ Startup Bootcamp!

Jason Lindsey spent almost two decades working in Film & Television. He worked as a Creative Director, and specialised in startup shows at Warner Bros. Entertainment, in Los Angeles, for 7 years.

Since moving to New Zealand with Kiwi wife Kate in 2006, Jason set up a children's Television Network called ZooMoo Canal TV and built shared office space Petridish located in Dunedin.

Jason has a passion for startups and developing leaders who learn through failure to create great successes, so it’s fantastic to have him on board this year!

Introducing Andrea Hammond as a mentor at this year’s NZ Startup Bootcamp!

After a career supported by fantastic mentors - that started in marketing then layered advertising, branding, comms strategy and PR expertise at leading companies and agencies, Andrea and business partner, PR and activation expert Gemma Ross formed Hustle & Bustle in 2013. The advertising, media and PR industries were disrupting at the time and they created a new agency model designed to make the most of their expertise and harness the opportunity to do things differently for clients.

Andrea has worked (and learned) with many successful brands in different categories and is looking forward to helping emerging companies to break through the early hurdles of trying to build brand and demand.

Not everyone knows she's also a SheEO activator and trustee of The Arts Foundation.

It’s a pleasure to have Andrea on board with us this year. We are so excited to have her as a mentor!

Good George Brewing is back at our NZ Startup Bootcamp by popular demand! They are once again sponsoring the event by serving their well-crafted beverages.

Good George came to life after a bunch of friends got together and decided, after years in hospitality and brewing, it was time to create their own craft beer brand. Their main motivation was to show people what great beer can be, convert drinkers from the norm and show them how to enjoy fantastic beer.

A few years on and Good George is more than just a brewery, it is a complete hospitality and beer lover’s experience. There are now a number of Good George venues around the countryside, a core range of award-winning beers and ciders, plus seasonal brews.

Cheers to Good George on a Friday!

Here’s to Good George for their great hospitality at our event last year and we are looking forward to having them again this year!

24/02/2020

One of the most ambitious and inspiring people you’ll meet at the NZ Startup Bootcamp is Luke Taylor. When it comes to starting a business based on a failed system, Luke knows what he’s talking about.

Luke doesn’t like to settle for the status quo, he loves a challenge and isn’t afraid to jump in the deep end when it comes to reinventing one of the world’s largest industries.

He believes that our lives are compromised by the choices we make, and as a result, this has led him to develop his own personal formula for indomitable positivity and ultimate success.

His mantra is “Mindset + Community = Success.”

Luke goes on to explain, that our mindset is the thing that defines how we view every situation, and our community is the high-quality people we choose to surround ourselves with.

Armed with this philosophy, Luke believes that even reinventing a mogul as large as our current health industry is not only possible but inevitable.

Having been self-employed since the age of nineteen, Luke has always found himself more comfortable with the freedom to grow, develop and innovate at his own pace, as opposed to doing it within the confines of a pre-established business.

With a lot of hard work, patience and innovation, Luke is celebrating his business, Taylored Health & Performance's, 10th year anniversary this year. (Congratulations is in order for this achievement!)

He is constantly pushing himself to learn, develop and adapt on all fronts. Luke is currently completing his Masters (with an eye on his PhD in the near future).

Luke’s business - Taylored Health & Performance – had stemmed from his own personal journey of frustration and disappointment with the current health care system.

Luke advocates for the health industry to shift their current process of being reactive to a proactive system. His ambition is to educate, empower and transform his client’s health journey through knowledge, network and innovation.

Taylored Health & Performance pride themselves on using unconventional systems and cutting-edge techniques. Taylored Health & Performance’s unique services and networks has led them to the opportunity of working alongside some of New Zealand’s finest athletes and top business executives.

Taylored Health & Performance is constantly growing as Luke’s ambition broadens. His next step has been to design and create a health and performance hub, based in the Waikato.

Luke has so many experiences and lessons to pass on from starting his own business based on his own ambitions. We are so thankful to have him as a mentor this year. You don’t want to miss what he has to say at the NZ Startup Bootcamp, apply now!
