Stress is a common part of modern-day life, and even more so when you work in healthcare.
Even though it's common, it's important to recognise and manage stress early, because if left unchecked, it can eventually lead to burnout š
Burnout can take a long time to recover from, and sadly, many people end up leaving their professions altogether because of it.
We all experience stress differently, depending on our individual circumstances. Here are just a few examples of how it can show up š
šø Headaches, fatigue, breathlessness and skin irritations
šø Loss of confidence, irritability, depression, and feeling disconnected
šø Worrying, muddled thinking, nightmares, and negativity
šø Loss of appetite, insomnia, eating more, drinking and smoking more
Some people cope with stress better than others. The way that you live your life can have a big impact on your health, well-being and how well you handle stress.
