Our products are traditionally fermented with salt using the natural yeasts and bacteria. Fermenting foods is a practice as old as humans themselves. Before modern food production every household would practice fermentation as a way of preserving the harvest and keeping food over non-productive winter months. All over the world traditional cultures innately knew how to improve food with the use of

invisible microbes. Science is only just catching up with the innate wisdom of our ancestors. Marea first shared her passion for growing nutrient dense food, making great ferments and nourishing our families to health and wellness, through teaching others. Now you can also buy our GoodBugs online, at local markets or at selected stockists. Goodbugs a name which tells a huge story. Our microbiome contains more bacteria than all of our human cells. A harmonious balance between the different types of bacteria in our microbiome will determine the state of our health. Until recently, the roles of these 'billions of little helpers' that make up our microbiome was a vital, but underrated contributor to human health. Each jar of Goodbugs Zuurkool real sauerkraut is raw (unpasteurised) and alive with these life giving probiotics.

We’re thrilled to share that Kiss Me Kimchi has been awarded Gold Medal – Outstanding Food Producer Awards 2026 🏆

This is a huge moment for us — after winning Silver in 2020, we’ve continued refining the recipe based on customer feedback and development, and it’s now been re-awarded Gold.

The judges loved the vibrant colour enhanced by chilli flecks, generous crunchy chunks, and the slow-building, lingering heat 🔥

Our market schedule is a little different this weekend due to ANZAC day trading laws, with our Saturday markets unable to operate on Saturday mornings. Instead, the Cambridge Farmers Market will now be happening on Friday afternoon from 2pm to 6pm. The Parnell Farmers' Market is taking a break this weekend.

Hence our schedule..

A heads up due to ANZAC day trading laws - Cambridge Farmers' Market NZ is on Friday afternoon (2pm to 6pm).

Our Cambridge Farmers’ Market is hosting a Twilight Farmers' Market THIS Friday 24th April 2pm to 6pm.

We are unable to hold our regular market on Saturday 25th April (Anzac Day) due to road closures, trading laws and the Cambridge Cycle Event.

This is your opportunity to stock up on your fresh food needs before the long weekend officially starts. We have most of your regular favorite stall confirmed so it will be a great market.

This Twilight Farmers' Market will be at the same venue as our normal Cambridge market in Victoria Square.

Come chill out with our live music, meet up with friends and family and grab a hot pasty, burger, waffle, ice cream and more in the beautiful tree surroundings.

Hopefully the weather will be on our side.

It's time for and this week try our Carrot Cupcakes with a GoodBugs Twist 🧡

Looking for another way to get GoodBugs into every meal? Try our carrot cupcakes!

Ingredients:
2 cups and 1 tbsp of spelt flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbs baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (fine)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 1/2 cups coconut sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/4 cups melted butter (or coconut oil)
2 cups GoodBugs Citrus Twist Sauerkraut (chopped and strained) Buy Here
1 cup grated carrots
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup craisins

Icing Ingredients:
sour cream
honey

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 160,C
2. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg into a bowl
3. Beat together the sugar, eggs, butter, add the strained kraut and carrots
4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet add the seeds and dried fruit be careful not to over mix
5. Pour into muffin or a cake pan bake for 30-40 min or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
6. Ice when cooled
7. Enjoy!
