Reposting this because although the weather has cleared, the effects haven’t. The clean-up for Tony at Pirongia Mountain Vegetables will be long, costly, and uncertain.
For the past six years, GoodBugs has relied on Pirongia Mountain Vegetables for our cabbages and garlic. Their spray-free, locally grown produce is part of what makes our ferments what they are. When they take a hit like this, it reaches far beyond the paddock.
We’re rooting for their recovery. If you’re able, please support this Givealittle fundraiser — and support the Pirongia township with your custom too.
Backing small NZ growers matters. 💚
Bit of a humbling post for us to make. Farmers Market New Zealand have very kindly set up a Givealittle page to help our family business after the flooding damage. We didn’t ask for it — and it’s definitely not compulsory by any means — but we are incredibly grateful for the support and thought behind it.
We’re just sharing it here in case anyone wants to pass it on, share it around, or contribute. Every bit of support, whether it’s a share, kind message, or donation, genuinely means a lot right now.
