Diastasis recti (abdominal separation) is super common after pregnancy, almost all mums experience it! Yet so many aren’t taught how to check or support their core safely.

Healing, strengthening, and feeling confident is possible! Join She Moves, download our app, and start our postpartum rehab & ab separation-friendly workouts today! www.joinshemoves.com

Here’s a simple self-check you can do in just a few minutes:
1️⃣ Lie down on a firm, comfortable surface. Knees bent, feet flat, take a few deep breaths, and relax.
2️⃣ One hand behind your head, the other resting above your belly button. Feel for a small gap between your abdominal muscles.
3️⃣ Gently lift your head & shoulders (like a mini crunch). Feel the muscles on either side of your fingers engaging.
4️⃣ Check the gap. Press fingertips from above to below your belly button. A small gap is normal, we're checking width & depth
5️⃣ How many fingers fit in the gap? Wider than 2 fingers may indicate diastasis recti, which is very common. Notice how soft or deep it feels. Very soft/deep? It's likely you have Diastasis. Extra support may be needed - and that’s okay!

Remember: You don’t necessarily need to 'close the gap', but supporting your core safely is key. You are not alone on this journey 💪
