Yesterday, I spent the day at Cambridge Riding for the Disabled where the volunteers came together for a training day with Jody Hartstone. It was a great day, we learnt lots and it was fantastic meeting local Cambridge people giving their time back to such a meaningful cause. Cambridge RDA are a charitable organisation who rely on volunteers, donations and grants to do the great work they do. I’m so looking forward to getting involved in the riding days and seeing the positive impact these horses have on the kids. “Cream Puff” is pictured below - one of the star students of the day!

❤️Favourite part of the job: Helping families & individuals through the step by step process of organising a meaningful farewell.

👨‍🏫What advice would you give someone going through grief?
There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no time limit when it comes to grieving either. Grieve however you will.

**FUN FACT** If you ever give Pellow and Hill a call, and find you are met with a smooth as silk phone voice, you'll know you are speaking to Dillon. Often referred to around the office as "Barry" ... Barry White.

Last night we spent some time with the Melville Mustangs after their training and were pleased to shout the team a well-deserved round of drinks.

It was a great opportunity to experience firsthand the strong sense of community they’ve built. There’s a genuine, welcoming atmosphere around the club, driven by a fantastic group of people who are clearly committed to making a positive impact locally.

We’re proud to support the club and are looking forward to getting along to a few games this season to cheer them on. The picture below is of Alaina and the Mustangs captain Hamish - modelling the new jersey for this season.

**Despite the evidence in this photo, Alaina is definitely the taller of the two - we suspect some clever positioning from Hamish!**

A beautiful service for a beautiful girl 🤍
Today was filled with love, tears, and so many special memories shared with those who knew her best. Peanut was there too, to farewell a girl with the biggest heart and a love for horses - a love that reflected her gentle, free spirit.
There was sadness, but also so much gratitude for the memories, the laughter, and the love that will never fade.
Rest easy, beautiful girl 🕊️ 💫

This week Mike is in the spotlight! Mike has 10 years in the Funeral Industry with almost all of that time being within the Hamilton community.

🐶Pets: 1 Cat "Mia" who we have had for about 20 years

🌴Dream Holiday: Travelling through Europe - exploring historic towns, great food, and soaking up a bit of culture along the way.

❤️Favourite part of the job: Building trust with families and helping guide them through what is often one of the most difficult times in their lives.

👨‍🏫What advice would you give someone going through grief?
My advice is to give yourself permission to take things one day at a time, lean on the people around you and allow space for both the sadness and the memories. Over time, these memories often become the most comforting part.

**FUN FACT**Although plenty of experience, Mike is the newest member to the P&H team, and we are thrilled to have him onboard - he is also purely on the quiz team to make up numbers and generate good vibes🤣 **

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beautiful young woman, Hannah, who has left us far too soon. On behalf of her family, we invite those who wish to pay their respects to attend her service. A service will be held at our Dinsdale chapel, 97 Tuhikaramea Road, Hamilton on Friday the 17th of April at 11am. Forever loved and never forgotten. This week Alaina is in the spotlight! Alaina is location manager/funeral director at Pellow & Hill, proud to stand by her team and supporting them in guiding families through tough times.

🐶Pets: 6 x Horses - Oakie, Venus, Boxer, Ahi, Peanut & Lil' Sebastian 3 Dogs, 1 Beardie x Huntaway "Grizz", 1 x Wire Haired Jack Russell "Poppy" and 1 x Miniature Daschund "Sharon", plus sheep, cows and a goat named "Dumbo".

🌴Dream Holiday: Staying on a ranch in Canada and mustering cattle for weeks at a time on horseback.

❤️Favourite part of the job: Supporting the team to give the absolute best service they possibly can to our families and being able to give back to our amazing community

👨‍🏫What advice would you give someone going through grief?
Break it down.. If you are finding things hard, take one day at a time, if that's too hard, one hour at a time or even one minute at a time. Be patient and kind to yourself.

Grief is the price of love, try to remember how lucky you were to have the time you did have together
