I’ve had all 5 of these injuries myself — and now I help runners avoid them.

As both a chiropractor and a runner, I see the same 5 issues over and over again — and honestly, most of them are preventable.

Here are the top 5 injuries I see in clinic:
1️⃣ Plantar fasciitis (tight calves + overloading)
2️⃣ IT band pain (poor glute control)
3️⃣ Shin splints (spike in training or weak foot control)
4️⃣ Low back tightness (usually core + hip imbalance)
5️⃣ Glute under-activation (hello lazy butt syndrome 😅)

💡 Here’s what I wish more runners knew:
– Your warm-up matters more than your cooldown
– You shouldn’t be doing every run at 100% intensity
– Strength training 1–2x a week helps more than stretching
– If something feels “off” — don’t ignore it. Your body whispers before it screams.

Hi! Im Hannah! A Chiropractor in Hamilton, NZ.

A little about me...
Throughout my early 20’s, I lived in the French Alps enjoying almost 6 years of mountain biking and skiing every day. I wanted to contribute to the lifestyle I loved so much, and through searching for a way to work in the field, I stumbled across Chiropractic. I moved back to the sunny south coast of England to train and graduated in 2023 from the Anglo European Chiropractic College (AECC).

Following university I worked as an associate chiropractor in the Peak District, UK, with the long term goal of settling in New Zealand. In June ’25 I finally got all my ducks in a line to move myself and my cat (Bill Murray) over, along with my native Kiwi partner Dave.

That brings us to present day - working in Blue Sky Chiropractic, Hamilton NZ!
