Tēnā koutou katoa. Please contact your midwife during business hours if you need clarification around visits during level 4&3.

If you visit the clinic for an essential visit,

🌀please be wearing a mask and scan in.

🌀DO NOT come inside and wait. Reducing the amount of time in shared areas, reduces the risk of transmission of any potential viruses. Once your midwife is available, youll be asked to come into the clinic and go straight into the clinic room.

🌀Please don’t touch any unnecessary surfaces.

🌀We prefer you to not bring other people to your clinic appointment for obvious safety reasons.

🌀Your midwife will be taking all necessary safety precautions.

🌀Visits will be quick yet effective enough for us to do a clinical assessment. We are keeping appointments to 15minutes max - again to reduce any potential tranmission time.

Thankyou for your understanding during this crazy time. We appreciate you following our recommendations when visiting our clinic so that we provide safe care to all our women!!

Kia tau, Kai mau - keep calm, carry on.

In line with the Government’s Alert Level 4 lockdown announcement, all Hawke’s Bay DHB facilities will have a no-visitors policy from 11:59pm tonight.

Read full details of the Level 4 visitor policy on our website: http://www.ourhealthhb.nz/news-and-events/latest-news/hawkes-dhb-level-4-lockdown-information-for-visitors-and-patients/

Exceptions:
💛 End of life care – one nominated person can support a terminal patient through end of life care.
💛 Children - one parent/guardian can support a child in hospital.
💛 Maternity - one support person can attend throughout the woman’s stay (labour, birth and postnatal).

The decision about whether exceptional circumstances apply is at the Charge Nurse Manager’s or another lead clinician’s discretion.

We ask that all whānau help us to protect and care for all who are in our care in Hawke’s Bay health services.

Kia kaha Hawke's Bay.

Kia ora tātou, as some of our māmā are aware, Te Tai Whenua Heretaunga are temporarily unable to provide antenatal education classes - however they are happy to provide a referral to another provider who will deliver similar content. Mauri ora.

Tēnā koutou, we are privileged to have one of our ataahua māmā share her homebirth video with us so that we may show other expecting māmā that homebirth is not scary - in fact it’s quite the opposite. It’s empowering and your tipuna (ancestors) are right there sharing and supporting the experience with you and your whānau. Our bodies are made to birth, it is our right and choice to birth in an environment that makes us feel safe. Quite often that is in our own kainga - at home with the ones you love the most....🤎 Mauri Ora
