It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear Dad, Papa and Great-Papa, William “Dude” Kapai Aranui. He passed peacefully, but unexpectedly, surrounded in aroha.

Dad leaves behind a beautiful legacy in all his children ;
Dude, Misty, Lucky, Sarah, Kaz, James, Lesley, and Teresa
and all his mokopuna and great-mokopuna who loved him dearly.

As we prepare to take him on his final journey, we welcome all whānau and friends to join us for his Service:

After the service, a hākari will be held to honour his life and the footsteps he leaves behind.

Passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 1st of December 2025.

Loved son of Walter McAneney & Margaret Te Oraroa Whakaware (nee Brown), loved step son of James Poulsen.

Beloved brother of Ross(Dec), Richard, Avon, Morris and Kim.

Dearly loved husband of Felicity Patricia Kaneihana (nee Mareikura) (dec).

Cherished father of Winton(Dec) & Jamie, Waipu aka Ginge, Demita (Dec) & Phillip, Walter(Dec) Moengaroa & David, Letitia & Hori, AJ, Jonnette, Fleur & Noui, Soloman King & Jacqueline, Mathew, Baron & Ngawai and Nicholas.

Loved papa to all his mokopuna, Tuatahi, Tuarua, Tuatoru.

Terry will lie at Baffin Place, Flaxmere for 2nights. On Wednesday 3rd Dec Terry will be welcomed onto Waipatu Marae.
The whanau asks for only immediate family for the first night, after which the whānau will be receiving manuhiri at the following times:

We are stoked to have these beautiful Urns back in stock. All handmade in New Zealand, each urn tells a story. We love the use of Paua shell and Greenstone set in resin. Some of this new stock even has natural Silver Ferns placed. A range of Redwood, Cedar, Matai and Recycled Rimu dated back to the early 1900s. These photo's don't do them justice.

Dearly missed grandmother, aunt and friend to many.

Ema's funeral service will be held on Saturday 8th of November 2025 at Tim Hutchins Funerals at 9am.

Tim Hutchins Funerals On Behalf Of The Te Kuru Whānau:

Kua hinga te tōtara, our beloved Uncle and Papa, Johnny Te Kuru , took his last breath surrounded by his whānau. We love you, we celebrate your life, until we meet again, Jah Rastafari!

Johnny will lie at 94 Bledisloe Road Maraenui. The whānau ask that today be for immediate whānau and from tomorrow (Thursday 6th) invite all to come and share their memories in celebrating uncles life.

A funeral service will be held at Bledisloe Road on Saturday 8th November 10am followed by burial at Kahuranaki Urupā, Te Hauke.

9 Dec 1947 – 25 Oct 2025

Passed unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday 25 October 2025 in Hastings.
Much loved mum of Jason & Craig, mother-in-law to Cherie, grandmother to Lauren & Hayden.
Loved aunty and nanny Pet to the Christy whanau in Haumoana, Pomare whanau in Wairoa, Gisborne, Rotorua, Australia, Beattie whanau in Rotorua and Australia, and ‘John-Boy’ in Huntly.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday 29 October 2025,11am at Tim Hutchins Funeral Home, 204 St Aubyn St West, Hastings. Burial service follows at Mangaroa Cemetery, 12:30pm.

A very special thank you to all the wonderful whanau who have rallied around at this very sad time. Our thanks also to the amazing staff at Gracelands Retirement Home in Hastings.

KENNEDY, John Ross (Ross) 5/2/1948 – 12/10/2025 (formerly of Maraetotara)

Much loved and cherished Dad and Dad in Law of Donna, Stephen and Katie and Treena, Poppa to Evie and Charlie and GodPoppa and Great GodPoppa to Amy and Annabel. Dad left us peacefully but unexpectedly on Sunday. We will all miss his great hugs and unwavering support. He was a true friend to many. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. He has gone to join his love, Yvonne (deceased).

A funeral service for Ross will be held this Friday 17th October 11am at St Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 817 Gordon Road, Raureka, Hastings. Followed by a private cremation
