If your baby is breech near the end of pregnancy, your provider may suggest External Cephalic Version (ECV)—a hands-on technique to help baby turn head-down. 👶➡️🔄
💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗖𝗩?
A trained provider applies gentle but firm pressure on your belly to guide your baby into an optimal position for birth. It’s usually done around 37 weeks, when baby still has room to move but is less likely to flip back.
📊 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀:
ECV works about 50-60% of the time, depending on factors like amniotic fluid levels, baby’s position, and how relaxed your body is during the procedure. Some moms find it uncomfortable, while others say it’s no big deal!
🌿 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲?
Many moms use hypnosis, relaxation techniques, and movement exercises to encourage baby to turn naturally. Staying calm and relaxed during the procedure may also increase the chances of success!
